Good morning dear forumers, looks like March is just about done and dusted. It is much brighter here today, perhaps a bit windier and cool (21°) however there are still showers about.
Am really fed up with getting up in the dark, the sun doesn’t rise until 7am, Daylight saving goes on far too long, six months is ridiculous, it might suit Melbourne and Tassie but useless for those further north. Queenland, NT and WA won’t have a bar of it, can’t wait for next Sunday when sanity prevails and we are back on AEST. Rant over…
Went for my usual coffee and cake morning hence being a bit late posting this. It was really enjoyable, good company, lots of chat.
There is some talk that the floods in western Qld might hang about for 6 weeks, millions of livestock have been lost. I did consider returning via the Stuart Highway and Broken Hill, but that would be a last resort - much colder for longer, far too much desert and was there fairly recently.
Morning all – sunny start to the day although a little chilly – we are promised temperatures of 17c!
Neighbours returned yesterday afternoon , so no longer on cat servant duty – they had to collect the key from me as they were in such a hurry to leave for their holiday that they left it in the door! They certainly looked nicely tanned!
Spent a long time changing the clocks yesterday (I have a lot of older clocks which don’t change automatically). I also have several timer switches which needed altering and, of course, there was one clock I missed - a wall clock we bought in New York around 25 years ago!
Today’s plans are laundry, also need to return something to a shop and buy more bird food – such an exciting life I lead.
Good morning - A sunny and mild Spring day ahead. Off to get the shopping early to be back in time for the Virgin Media engineer calling (no landline telephone and TiVo box not working).
Good Morning everyone…
The sun was out earlier but seems to have disappeared now behind some thin cloud.
No wind and 10 degrees C. Decided not to walk today to get some jobs done.
I’ve seriously neglected the house and garden recently what with gout, a new book, and now, messing around with the new phone. It’s time to get my finger out…
The central heating radio clock refuses to be adjusted, I know what it is, and it needs a stripdown to put it right. The toilet seat is hanging off, don’t shuffle while you are sat on it…
The shower and sink drains need cleaning, blocked by all of Mrs Foxes lost hair. The garden looks like ‘The land that time forgot’ Lawns and edges need lots of attention. There are still several chapters of my current book need reading. And I haven’t finished setting up my new phone… Oh! and the car needs a clean…
First job…Get the chair out…
Glorious sunshine here today, the second wash is about to go on the line.
I’m having what I call a reset.
This involves complete abstinence from caffeine and alcohol for a week and eating reasonably sensibly.
I have a friend who’s had (retired) quite a career in nursing who’s quite an advocate for homeopathic remedies…
I’ve found the aconite really useful in the past when dealing with anxiety and a poor sleep pattern.
It just means maintaining self discipline for another week, it doesn’t work with booze and lashings of coffee
I think women are worse than dogs for shedding hair, at least the dog’s hair is short and doesn’t tangle up around the brush on the carpet sweeper.
After my daughter and/or daughter in law (with their respective dogs) have visited it takes weeks for their hair to go. If I didn’t enjoy their visits I’d ban them
