Good Morning Monday, 30th June 2025

Good morning once again, it’s the last day of the financial year and the last day of the first half of the year. The older you get the more time seems to whiz past.

My excitement is just about over for the day, coffee and cake Monday as always, one of our number was not there due to to in laws arriving from Queensland but it was still a lovely morning out.

On the way home I called into the supermarket to get a 4 serve Coles Massaman Curry to divide up and freeze, I have enough food in the freezer for a couple of weeks at least.

Still unreasonably cold at night though day time temps are OK, however I would definitely prefer your temperatures to mine.

Enjoy your magnificent Monday, do you have any plans?

Take care

Good morning!
Clear, dry, and sunny

Nothing much really desperate planned for today, except that for weeks now I’ve meant to dust & tidy all the wires, cables, odd boxes, and general spaghetti around & behind my computer
So that would be a useful & satisfying job to do today

Or I could just put it off again and go to the pub … Hmmmmm … a hard decision to make.

Exciting news - a “Bomb Cyclone” has just formed off the NSW coast. I shall be checking my gutters in the morning. Rain could be up to 240mm by Thursday with winds of 100kph.

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Brilliant sunshine here, school time, groups of noisy kids and parents to and fro past the front window on the way to School.

I quite like the noise, happy, laughing kids, a new generation, can’t stand the stupid parking.

A big set of urgent paperwork needs doing today, but still waiting for a statement from the medics.

That is my day in it’s entirety, boring, necessary stuff,

Enjoy your day

Good Morning From Foxy’s World… :walking_man:
Earlier on this month I was just considering your winter temperatures with our summer ones @Bruce and they were about the same…Hight teens and low twenties…and that’s good for us…however, this morning started at 28 degrees C at 7:00am and by the time I returned from my walk at 8:30am it had risen to 31 degrees C…Phew!
It won’t last long though… :009:
Just a steady walk this morning then, and time for a photograph along the towpath. Which incidentally I had all to myself this morning…Sheer ecstasy! And better than sex…It lasts longer!
:yum:

There are plenty of jobs to do around the house and garden, but only if I feel like doing them…
Saturday’s Strawberry tea was rather civilised and enjoyable…Tally Ho!

From left to right…Daughters Hubby, Grand Daughter number two, someone you will all know… And Mrs Fox…

I think Spike Milligan once wrote, " While England boils in its 20°C of summer Australia freezes in its 20°C of winter". That usually fairly accurate but this year it has been exceptionally cold. I am usually good up to 33° but once it get over that I don’t like it so much. I think the problem in the UK is the high humidity that goes with these high temps there

Yeah @Bruce Spike knew a thing or two, the humidity is quite high, especially at night, and it makes sleeping uncomfortable.
I don’t like opening windows at night, it encourages bitey things to come in and help themselves to refreshments…Namely my blood…

Good afternoon all! :sun_with_face::hot_face:

At risk of stating the obvious it’s bloody hot here in West Sussex!
I’m at home today so I thought I’d rearrange the front room make, space and have a clean out etc.
Grouping together some of the plants seems to have a calming, cooling effect :sunflower::v:

Righto… time for a well chilled packet of Angel Delight before I get involved with the Baby bio…

Stay cool people! :sunglasses:

Afternoon all – wow it is hot! Temperature is 31c even the birds are keeping in the shade

The beast went out straight after breakfast this morning, there are several cool shaded places in the garden

My lovely Italian neighbour dropped in to check I was OK and coping with the heat – unnecessary but very kind of her

Made the mistake of washing two duvet covers at the same time – of course one ended up inside the other! By the time I had untangled them I was worn out!

My plan today was to do some shopping but changed my mind and am staying indoors.

Take care – hope everyone stays cool

Good afternoon everyone, so my wishes to send you some of our heat actually worked! Temperatures haven’t decreased here though!
I don’t think you’d prefer our temperatures @Bruce, 40C now in town, only 37C in the hills where I live! The good thing is that we don’t have high humidity yet, but unfortunately we won’t get away with it that easily, still July and August to come. Up North they should be getting thunderstorms this week, but I hope those clouds remain in the North, I don’t want any rain just yet, got the car washed this morning.

I think I’ll get on with some Netflix bingeing, windows closed, blinds down, who dares going out there?? Not me! :anguished: Not until 8pm when the sun finally disappears behind the hills.

I’ve been busy with too many things to write about, or that probably wouldn’t be of interest. One thing that might be though. Despite setbacks, the garden building is rising from the ground. Not quite as in the plans because of errors in it. The builder and his son are resourceful fellows though and are building it their way. It will be done well I’m sure…

Have a good day. (Hot isn’t it?)

That’s what they all say Swimmy…
It’s the red wine that does it…It’s preserved her body.
When she gets cremated it’ll take them two weeks to put out her liver…
Don’t tell her I said so though… :021:

I open my windows at night in summer but they all have fly screens on them so mozzies and bugs don’t get in.

Probably not, as i said to OGF the humidity is the killer in Europe, here when it is hot the humidity can be in the 20% range whereas in the UK it is over 50 or 60%. The humidity makes a hell of a difference.

Just crank up the A/C (or do what I do and take a book to the shopping mall and enjoy their’s.)

Oh yes, couldn’t live without fly screens, or “mosquito” screens, as we call them, especially out here in the country. They’re fundamental. That’s the first home-improvement we did, when we moved in.

I’ve read that it’s possible mosquitos favour people with a certain blood group. Regardless if that’s true or not they certainly like me, as do other kinds of flying insect pests that bite.
Spray is a summertime essential…even in parts of Sussex!

Must order some more.

I always thought they went after those with the sweetest blood! It must be true because at a family BBQ a mossie flew past my Mother, my Brother, his wife and children to get to me!

Oh to be favoured!

I think that all of us get bitten at some time, but I think it’s the bodies response that makes the difference…An over production of histamine will cause swelling and itching.
An under production of histamine and you won’t even know you’ve been bitten.
Also this…
