Good morning on a slightly warmer day than yesterday, it is still a bit overcast and the temperature is only creeping up to a cool 19° but after yesterday’s frigid conditions (I had my fan heater on for a while) anything is an improvement, The forecast is for a warming trend for the rest of the week, thank goodness.
Monday is of course coffee and cake morning, sadly as we age, our numbers are diminishing and I can see this ending in the not too distant future. That’s the way it goes I suppose.
Not much planned for today, I will probably try to get the washed and aired bedding into the camper ready for its next outing. It is a bit of a fiddly job especially getting the fitted sheet on the mattress but it has to be done.
I am getting to the end of my list of “Jobs to be Done When I get Home” which is both good and bad. I like having something to do. No rain today so I might fly my drone for a little while later (depends on the wind).
There’s a definite chill in the air, no more heatwaves!
The intention was to take some pictures for eBay listings today. However, the light is rather subdued so I’ll postpone that little job for now.
Talking of the change of temperature and seasonality it’s time to dig out the slow cookers!

A cloudy day here in southern Hampshire, looks like it may rain later.
Can’t say there’s too much exciting going on here. Coffee and drop the wife off at the gym. Maybe some shopping later.
I’ve decided to set myself a long-term project at getting all my old videos into my PC. Yesterday whilst rummaging through some stuff, I found a box of old camcorder tapes, some going back to year 2000 and I will probably hunt around for a converter to import them and later to sit down and edit them. Most of them was taken in Florida and Canada, but it would be nice to relive some of those times on the telly. I know one tape in particular has me proposing to my wife. Problem is, I have a LOT of tapes and it’s going to take ages to go through the lot, as I was into home movies at the time. It was just a phase I went through before giving up and moving over to photography, which I found more enjoyable.
So I will probably spend most of the day looking for the right hardware and software.
Corned beef hash with a a splash of worcestershire sauce, baked beans and a fried egg…yummy!
Fray Bentos was always my favourite, but nowhere round here stocks it anymore.
Princes is good though.
I also love corned beef slices in a sandwich, with plenty of english mustard.

Blue sky and thirteen degrees here in the west midlands - cool, but not cold enough for heating at the moment - think i’ll test the central heating later and make sure it’s working as it should be ready for winter.
What can i say about Monday - think i’ll play it by ear.
Another coffee should help me decide!
Chilli a cooking tip for that kind of processed meat, get a tin of Bacon Grill chop it into the equivalent size of large matchsticks, make an omelette mix, bung in the Bacon grill and make a standard omelette.
Yep, I have used Bacon grill before Spitty, used to have a couple of tins on standby in the cupboard. Actually I might get some from B&M in town tomorrow now you mention it.
It’s not as easy (chilled) to find over here Bruce. I’m not sure but I think it’s quite popular and readily available in the US. Makes a lovely warming Autumn/Winter dish regardless.
I’ll be making it tomorrow now…my local inconvenience shop is out of OXO cubes!
Fairly young at the time this happened ( 6 or 7 i think) but i remember my mother wouldn’t buy corned beef for a long time after this happened, even though the outbreak was in Scotland.
