Good Morning Monday 28th October 2024

Good morning to you all on this lovely Spring morning.

Coffee and cake as usual this morning, with my previously hospitalised friend in attendance too though it has to be said not looking very well.

Today the 3G network is finally turned off in Australia so it is 4G and 5G or tough luck.

I am about to head off to the station to catch the train for Sydney. Two days of Seniors’ Annual Conference to look forward to, not sure if I will attend both days, have learned from experience everything is cut and dried before the delegates arrive.

Anyway it is a nice train trip along the coastline even though it takes as long if not longer than it did in the days of steam.

Have a wonderful Monday, take care, be good…

Good morning!
Dull, drizzly, but not too cold

Nothing much planned for today, with one exception, so it will be -

General pottering about
Routine dentist appointment early afternoon
More pottering about

I think I have recovered from specific symptoms of my illness like shivering and sore peeing, but I still feel a bit weak & tired; hopefully now I’m eating better and doing a bit of exercise I will only improve.

Good morning - A bright morning but the cloud cover is building. No rain the forecast. Rather than just promising to do some exercise, I actually did some today. Just a simple step up and down but that’s more than I have been doing. Need to try and build myself up a bit.

Off to the hospital later for a blood test. I still have plenty of it as far as I can tell.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all – change in the weather today showers forecast for the whole day!

Hope you enjoy your stay in Sydney Bruce

Glad you are continuing to feel better zuludog

My day started with a lovely surprise – my brother rang me. OK it was early and before I had breakfast but it is always great to hear from him. He lives in Australia so it was evening for him and as he lives alone (except for his dog) I think he finds the evenings difficult which is when he rings me. Our conversations range from family to politics and all points in between but always end with laughter. We were on the phone for almost an hour when I had to end the call before my grumbling stomach woke the entire neighbourhood!

Took advantage of the sunshine yesterday and went for a walk around a local park, it never ceases to amaze the number of people who walk around just staring at their phones! I was enjoying the sunshine, listening to the birds and even watched a couple of squirrels, I think people miss so much when they don’t just put their phones away and enjoy real life!

Only plans for today is some housework and a visit to the shop

Take care – have a lovely day

Good morning from the darkness of Florida.

It’s good to read that the gentlemen on the thread are having a good start.

@Sheila, how nice that you had a good call with your brother. I am sure you stave of the loneliness that can occasionally set in, being far away in time and distance. Ending a phone call with laughter is the best! I am sure you made his day.

I hope @Bruce is enjoying his conference but exploring Sydney most of all.

I was up at 4 a.m. with my son, who was up for an early day of flying. I would have told you that my mom radar had faded away long ago, but aparently my subconcious is still keeping an eye - or ear - on him , since my eyes popped open as soon as hen was awake. I decided not to fight it and sent him off with a hot breakfast.

The sun if finally up, and like clockwork, this fellow, who has been perched nightly in the upper branches of the pine tree behind the house, took off in search of his own meal. Sadly, he doesn’t have a mother who will crawl out of bed at ungodly hours to cook up a breakfast burrito. He’s a beauty, though. I haven’t been able to get a good enough look at thim to determine whether he is an egret or a heron.

It’s warming up fast, so I think I’ll start the day by wrestling the dogs into the shower before I launch into some math tutoring later in the day.

Have a lovely day!
