Good morning happy forum folks, another warm spring day which I need to make the most of, two days of cold are predicted with a cold front sweeping up from the south.
My daughter left this morning, we had a very nice meal at the Indian place at the end of my street last night. We also had a very successful day yesterday, she got the writing on my Seniors’ honour board finished and I designed and 3D printed a mount for a replacement levelling thing for her Delica (the old one had cracked and leaked so we modified a Pajero one to fit.
It is remarkable how useful a Makita Multitool is for cutting plastic things. If you haven’t got a multitool definitely get one. I bought a set of blades from Ebay or Amazon which can cut just about anything.
Not sure what the rest of the day holds. Enjoy the new week.

Over the past weekend, I drove with son to Hua Hin, a small coastal town. We stayed at a small hotel near the beach. At night, we went to the night market where there was an abundance of food, everything looked so delicious! We also had seafood at the restaurant by the beach. everything was fresh and reasonably priced. The next day, we had seafood again in the town center. The food was just as fresh, but even cheaper than before. After that, we drove around exploring the nearby area and even climbed a hill, which left my feet quite sore! But it was such a wonderful time , spending it with my son.
Good morning - Sunny, breezy and not too cold in this neck of the woods. We’re up and about and going through the usual morning procedures. Not much to do but at least we won’t go hungry. We did a couple on online food orders yesterday. They are arriving later.
General tidying & doing last night’s washing up this morning, then on to an important piece of work
I’ve mentioned before that I go to a Men’s Shed, which, like many Sheds does mostly woodwork, but they also take on all kinds of odds & ends
Someone has asked the Shed if they could repair some old fireside bellows
They belonged to her Grandmother and are a family heirloom, but they are in a very poor state
The wooden parts aren’t too bad, just need a clean & polish, but the leather is very bad - dried out like cardboard, split & cracked, will need replacing
The old studs are rusty & tarnished, they will also have to be replaced
And the whole thing is scruffy & dirty with scratches, smoke, and general wear & tear; and the steel nozzle is also stained & dirty
Fortunately the lady is not bothered about ‘character’ or ‘patina’, she would like it to ‘‘look nice and clean’’
As I am the only one who has worked with leather I have volunteered to take on the job
So I will start by carefully taking the thing apart, making notes & taking photographs, and see how I go from there
Well, about an hour after writing that a southerly buster arrived and the temperature plummeted from the mid 20s to just above the mid teens! I have been wearing a cardigan since.
Just back from a fortnights shopping for food at Tesco. bright and sunny here at he moment so lookes like being a nice day
Out with the leaf blower thia afternoon and all the small twigs and acorns etc fill yet notherf plastic bag. Good new is hardly any more acorns falling down thank goodness
Bright and crisp day here in the sunny south of Hampshire, having just got back from my daily walk.
Mrs G was supposed to be going to her gym class, which is now been cancelled. Worse still, my DVD drive on my PC appears to have packed up. Not sure if it’s hardware or Windows 11 causing problems. Need a serious coffee to sit down and try to sort it out, although I get the feeling the drive itself may have failed, as I’ve had it for quite some time.
Anyways, before all that, I’m being dragged to the shops which may involve a fried breakfast.
