Good morning all, milder here and a pleasant day to come weather wise I believe.
Just a few odd jobs for me today and a trip to the tip later with some old furniture, but nothing on my agenda that pressing so I may potter in the garden as well if it’s nice out.
A cool but sunny day. The council are making their slow progress toward the side of my house to build a footpath. They leave their digging machine beside my fence I wish I had the keys.
Went for my walk fairly early which wasn’t necessary as it wasn’t that warm only got up to about 20’ today which is pretty cool for the middle of spring.
Having been trying to find if I am allowed in the ACT on the 1st November when the travel restrictions are lifted for travel anywhere in NSW.
Ordered a new camping stove - one that runs on petrol, I didn’t know you could still get them, they are like the old blowlamps (remember them), absolutely fed up with the butane stove that works so badly in cold weather.
We had the most beautiful sunset last night, so many images put up on our local FB page. Some were simply stunning, as they showed the sky as fiery red. I took some photos on my phone and will see if I can upload on here.
A trip to Asda planned for me, and maybe a browse in Dunelm, next door. Then I could nip into McD’s new build, on that roundabout. I fancy an apple pie and a McFlurry to bring home for dessert. I have space in the chest freezer now, to pop the ice cream in till I want it.
And later I will finish up the cooked meats in another roast.
I have just ordered some more boots for Chloe, I fear she will be wearing a boot for walking outside for a long time.
Having a toe and claw removed has altered the balance of weight on her paw and removed some protection from her pads and one of them is getting scuffed and sore. She doesn’t mind the boots so I will continue to use them for outside walking and a sock indoors (made from a roll of tub grip cut into strips and sewn up at one end held up with a Velcro strap).
Lots to do today, more mincemeat to make I wasn’t happy with the last lot but the tin of mincepies I made for the family went in a day.
Good morning everybody! I love that sky @Jazzi so pretty!.
Painting the bathroom today - should have it done in a day as its only 6ft x6ft (whats that, 36sq ft?) and no window, so quite straightforward. Waiting for Amazon to bring shelves as well, so its a day in the house for me. Shame, as it looks quite nice outside.
I have been busy outside with the man erecting a cage for our meter cupboard.
It looks alright but there are a few things I want him to change - isn’t there always for Gods sake?
Also the bollard he made for us a few months ago has lost it’s flap so we can’t lock it!
He’s going to have a think & see what he can do about it. I guess we employed the wrong man but at least we have had a discussion & he listened to my suggestions. He promised me he’d make it right…
I’m really getting sick of all this. If the vandalism continues I am tempted to sell up & buy a nice house somewhere residential.
I mentioned it to Tony but he doesn’t want to leave… Mind you - I don’t want to leave really. I have so much room here, I will never find a house with all this space. I also love my little garden that I have cared for & nourished. I think it would break my heart to go really…
