Good Morning Monday, 25th November 2024

Good morning all on this lovely warm Monday - 30° predicted today.

I washed all my bedding together with yesterday’s clothes and hung them on the line.

In between time I went for my weekly coffee and cake morning meeting which I missed last week, returned home to find my washing had dried in a couple of hours which was good.

On the way home I called into my PO Box to discover a new NAS case had been delivered. My old WD NAS had failed after more than a decade or so of faithful service. It had long ceased to be supported by Western Digital so it’s demise was not unexpected. I am hoping the HDDs out of it still work and I will fit them in the new one with the intention of replacing them with larger new drives one at a time.

Occasionally this morning I have had a nanosecond of panic when brain says, “Where are the dogs?” but it is short lived. Will get the Roundup out soon and catch up on those gardening jobs I put off until the dogs had gone.

Tomorrow the temp is supposed to be in the mid 30s so it is probably only indoor jobs then ( I am OK up to about 32° but once it gets over that I start to feel uncomfortable).

Anyway, enjoy the new week, carpe diem and all that. Take care.

That’s why I could never foster dogs.I would never be able to give them away.

Good morning - Storm Bert has moved on and all is calm this morning. A few bits of rubbish to pick up from the road but not much else.

Supermarket shopping day has come around again. Plus a visit to the charity shop to donate some clothes. Not much else happening.

Have a good day

Morning all – weather much better this morning, some sun and no rain (for now). We got off pretty light here but just a couple of miles away some people have had flood water in their homes.

Did very little yesterday, binge watched some TV and that was about it

Was planning to meet a friend today but have had to cancel. My brother rang to say Mum has been taken ill (for those who don’t know they live in Australia and she is 98). He will ring again after the doctor has been. Not much I can do from here but can’t help worrying

Take care – hope everyone has a better day than me!

That must be a worry but at least you know that she will get good medical care, even if it is far away.

So sorry to hear about your Mum Sheila, I can’t imagine the worry you must feel with her being so far away and not be able to go to her side…
:hugs:
Whatever it was that was making me feel under par seems to have righted itself and I had a marvellous jog/walk this morning under sunny skies and reasonably dry paths and lanes.
Even with a couple of nags to strangers and calling in to the surgery with my prescription I still set a good time.
I once had a dog when I was about ten, it bit me on the ear quite bad and then during a fit had to be put down (the dog, not me I hasten to add) since then there has never been a time that I haven’t had a cat, until we lost Maddie in 2021.
Green bin day on Thursday so I must tidy up the garden and sweep up the piles of leaves, I don’t know how many more green bin collections there will be. They don’t collect them over the winter so it might be the last one.
It’s probably just me but…I’m amazed the amount of stuff some of you do when you report on the morning thread. My life is quite stationary and sedate compared to yours. Okay, I go out and jog/walk round a 3.5 mile route five mornings of the week but I do nothing after that on most days, being too tired to do just the basic of jobs. My social life is practically none existent, and only see my daughter on Saturdays and occasionally through the week. I seem to be in a permanent rut, and the worse thing is…I like it.

Good morning from the blue chilly skies of Florida!

Ha, I have those often and still occasionally see the nine dogs that have passed on in the corner of my eye that comes with a moment of happiness followed with that familiar pang of loss.

I had to look up “NAS.” Around here it stands for Naval Air Station. It’s always fun when a package arrives; good luck with your new treat.

Oh, Sheila, I hope she feels better soon. That is a remarkable age and I am sure you must miss her being so far from you.

@OGF, I managed the exact same distance this morning but started out stiff as a tree having tried a new small-weight routine. It feels good to loosen up that lactic acid.

The only dog I ever fostered, by the time I got to the care, I knew she’d be mine. I have to steer clear of fostering organizations or I’d have to file to have the house registered as a commercial dog kennel and spend all our discretionary income on vacuum cleaners .

As many good plans go to mud around here, I went to pick up the mail yesterday and ran into my elderly neighbor, who was distressed that her daughter hadn’t been able to drive down yesterday to help her get her prescriptions. Plans to take the boat were scrapped, and I drove her to Target (a mass merchandiser with a pharmacy) for medications and groceries. All was not lost though; I was able to purchase a bunch of needed housekeeping supplies so I could come home and turn my good deed into - work .

The dolphins are now coming up the river daily with the gulf water cooling off, so I am hoping for a quick sail this afternoon in hopes of seeing a few. I never get tired of a sighting.

Other than that, it is a mundane Monday around here fighting the decay of nature!

Have a pleasant start to the week!
