Good Morning Monday, 22nd December 2025

Good morning everyone another hot steamy day. The forecast for Christmas day is looking pretty good with temperatures in the mid 20s (perfect)

It is the summer solstice and in rockhampton at solar noon (11.58)there will be no shadows. The town of Rockhamton is on the Tropic of Capricorn as far as I know the railway line still goes down one the streets.

To celebrate the solstice I was out early buying 6 litres of milk, potatoes, masses of bacon and a few other items to tide me over the hell of Christmas shopping.

The Corellas and Galahs were out and about too

It rained last night but I don’t think there was much in it. There was a brief storm early evening lasting about tow or three minutes which blew pot plants over and made a lot of noise, then it was gone. Just 6.5 mm when I checked this morning.

The postman cometh, Well, Australia Post’s Startack did - they delivered my box of books from the UK Amazon.

Very happy, that should keep me going for a while.

Anyway enjoy your Monday.

Take care…

Good morning Bruce and all,
Today I spent time living a slow life again.
I got up around 8 a.m. and listened to The Delilah Show on the radio.
I’ve been listening to her since I was living in Florida.
Today she played only Christmas songs, though.
It made me think that if it were back then,
I would probably already have presents under the Christmas tree for everyone.
Then I had a butter and jelly sandwich before heading to work.
It took about an hour to get there.
It’s very warm today, but my heart isn’t. Have a great day, all!!

Good morning!
Cloudy & dull but dry

Men’s Shed this morning

A neighbour told me that LIDL was absolutely packed yesterday, and I expect the other supermarkets would have been the same, so I’ll go this afternoon or tomorrow

And that’s about it.

The Mall car park has signs telling staff to park in the Anglican Church car park so they are expecting the usual Christmas rush of people.

When I went at just after 7am if was much the same as normal but the car park was filling up quicker than usual when I left maybe half an hour later. Obviously I couldn’t see what the other two levels were like but it is definitely somewhere to avoid until after Christmas (there are two levels of shopping but three levels of car park.)

Morning one and all…

We’re sat in Times Square drinking coffees before our ride picks us up and takes us to the airport. Its freezing cold and unbelievably crowded here and although we’ve enjoyed it, i think we’ve stayed as long as we needed to and look forward to getting home.

Have a great day all…

Just as a matter of interest, can I ask why did you go in mid winter?

New York was my brother’s favourite place, he went at all times of the year on business as well as just for a family holiday. Personally I have never been to the Americas at all though I have an invite to stay with old friends in Dallas, Texas (I wouldn’t mind seeing the grassy knoll). I think I have left it too late.

My wife likes to see all the Christmas decorations.
