Good morning all who follow. At least the wind seems to have gone and temps are more moderate - in the mid to high 20s.
Quite a heated discussion at coffee and cake this morning with a friend blaming the sender for their mail going into her spam folder. She would not have it that it was Gmail or her phone that did it.
We spent some of the time browsing for wheelchairs, I was quite surprised how cheap they were on Amazon - in the $200 to $300 range. It was just that one of our number has a “transit” chair but it has to be moved by a third party, she cannot move it herself. Amazon also had an electric transit chair for less than $800. again a surprise, because one of the seniors club members has an electric wheel chair that cost $55000 (more than my car when it was new).
Called into the mall on the way home for milk and bought some Christmas cards to send. The Post Office is closed for repair after being flooded last week. Bad time to be shut.
I have to restring my whipper snipper, it ran out when I last used it and I was in no mood to do it then. (is “restring” the right word?)
Guess what, it is raining again and heavy rain is forecast this afternoon.
More deliveries from Amazon today, finishing off with more household things I use often. Strangely enough there is wine and Vodka amongst the mix, at very good black friday discounts.
I will be watching the Politics today, our PM and Chancellor getting hammered about the Budget.
I am not a very Political person, just wished we had some competent ones.
Good morning!
Cloudy, dull, and raining, but not too cold
Yesterday was successful; I repaired my book shelves and cleaned & tidied the living room
My new cordless stick vacuum cleaner is easier to use than Henry so I had the time & energy left to clean the kitchen floor
I thought about changing the sheets but decided not to - you can have too much of a good thing you know.
Men’s Shed this morning, then I hope to continue with the housework & tidying this afternoon
Absolutely pouring here in South Hampshire and I’m sat in a coffee shop waiting for the weather to subside a bit before venturing out into the elements.
Almost done with the Christmas shopping, just a few odds and ends left to get. Need to find some time to wrap everything when my good lady goes out for a bit. Hard to believe its only two weeks until we fly to New York and have a thousand things to do before then.
Good morning from the gray skies of Florida! It’s a bit overcast with winds whipping about, so raking leaves is off the To Do list. That leaves me with no other choice but to don the armor, set my jaw, and get out there with the masses who are ready to melt their credit cards with overuse. I keep thinking I am going to set aside a day in June to shop, but I break that promise to myself every single year.
For a second I thought that was a nickname for Henry Hoover, before I realized there is a whole product line with that name. I like calling my Shark vacuum “Jaws” because the dogs are so afraid of it. They tell me it’s not funny and joke that has gone on far too long.
Really, you and others shouldn’t be finding sport out of sabotaging seniors’ email accounts, Bruce .
I’d love to have a holiday in which the both the executive branch (those who write the budget) and the legislative branch, spend the day on national television getting berated by the public. I’d put it on the big screen and invite the neighbors to a party complete with tapas, crudités, cookies (I love slipping that in whenever I can ), and punch.
Exciting! I secretly wish you were going farther afield but hope the weather is mild and it’s easy to get out and about.
Wet and windy today… but hey, less about me!
In town for a meeting first thing this morning, it took me forever to find the relevant paperwork amongst my somewhat dubious filling system. A good job I don’t work in an office.
The next thing was to drop a roll of very fast black and film into Boots the Chemist for processing. According to their website it’s a service that they still provide…
However, in store all that was left of the photography section was half a dozen self service digital photo units, not good
Never mind, I’ll just send the film off to the specialist company where I bought it from for developing. They cater for crusty old filmies like myself
Had a couple of seriously nice bargains waiting for me when I got home…
Acquired this second hand from Amazon for a fiver, virtually in mint condition, saved about a tenner. I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck into this.
And last but not least I haven’t been able to get my hands on any of these for a couple of years…
