Good Morning Monday, 18th May 2026

Another good morning from me, rain (not showers) are expected this arvo and tonight so should get some good falls.

Went for an abbreviated coffee and cake morning today. I have dog sitting responsibilities while my daughter is in Sydney having her tattoo finished.

Last night we went to the club for a meal where we had an garlic bread, entrée and meal, I chose the smallest steak but it was perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious.

Picked the ripe chillis off my Chilli plant, will probably dry and grind them, they are firey hot.

Anyway it is dog playtime, gotta go.

Have a good one.

Take care.

Lucky that was not a kangaroo steak on the plate, it might have hopped off

Morning all – very heavy rain last night and wet and overcast this morning, I am beginning to forget what a day of sunshine looks like!

Well, I think I need help! I have ordered yet more books. I either have to stop buying books or have another bookcase made

Cleaner is due this afternoon – she only deals with things I am starting to find difficult, washing floors, cleaning the shower and bathrooms, etc.

Neighbours went to their place in Spain yesterday – only going for a week. They rang from our local airport to say their flight had been delayed for 2 hours, they were not best pleased!

Take care – hope everyone has a lovely day

Good morning all

We had thunderstorms with hail stones as big as Peas yesterday , my tender plants survived thank goodness .
Skies are darkening once more and rain is on the agenda for much of this week .
Yesterday I was invited out for a light lunch , and a walk .It felt cold walking into the light wind . The walk was at the side of the Grantham Canal , it looked so neglected with dead bulrushes and other canal reeds growing ,hardly any water visible , and no wild life to be seen . The canal stretches quite a few miles , most is now dry , which is a shame or a disaster for the Swans , Geese , Coots and Moorhens .

Today is a lazy day and any little household chores that need doing .
Everyone enjoy your day .

Morning all!

Sunny spells here in Sussex, no complaints :partly_sunny:
Bruce, you’ve given me an idea. I do dry chillies in the air fryer, it just means using the lowest setting and constantly keeping an eye on things.

As no doubt I’ve posted before there’s almost always some flavoursome and potent Indian ginger in the fridge.

The problem is it doesn’t last long before it starts to become all shrivelled and wizened! :open_mouth:
I’m going to scrub and finely slice a batch and use the same process to dry it. Delicious in green tea and in ginger water with honey and lemon :lemon:
On that culinary note…

Have a fab day people! :crossed_fingers:

Morning all ! This morning we had the groomer for the wee dog - she is a delight, the dog that is ! Then a bit of a stroll along The Roman Rig. Then groceries later on. Then more work on the new garden chairs.

I have an old dehydrator which is very handy, I can use it to dry filaments for my 3D printer too.

When I do dry the chillis I will save the seeds for growing next year. I left it a bit too late this year.

Do like ginger too there is always some growing somewhere in the garden, it is a bit of a weed, very difficult to kill.

Yep, I think horseradish is the same in that respect, delicious though!

Good morning everyone, was hoping to get some of the old fence dismantled yesterday but after dinner the energy ran out so I ended up on the sofa with ‘A place in the sun’ for company while Mrs Fox did the washing up. It rained anyway…
:cloud_with_rain:
They’ve forecast rain for today also, but it doesn’t look too bad, and this mornings walk was done in cloud and sunny spells.
I walked the ‘Cuckoo Way’ along the Chesterfield canal Eliza, and they built the M1 over the top of it with no tunnel, so once you get to the other side it’s all overgrown and neglected. It’s so sad to see it like that. They have started to restore it though just outside Chesterfield though.
