Good Morning Monday, 16th June 2025

Good morning on yet another sunny morning, temperature only in the high teens but pleasant enough for winter.

Decided that it was a good day to get my laundry done so by 6.50 am my washing machine was hard at it, in fact it is just about dry and ready to take off the line as I type.

I had my usual Monday coffee and cake meeting this morning, it was interrupted by a an important council fellow asking for my opinion on the booking system for the hall and rooms we use. I say important because he was full of himself so I made sure that he knew the place originally belonged to the senior citizens long before the council took over running the venue (They seem to forget that).

When I got back home my package of keyed alike dead locks and door handles had arrived. I searched everywhere for the hole saw I use for this but in the end had to drive to Bunnings to buy another. Also bought some paint because the doors and architraves themselves have seen better days.

So far I have fitted one handle  and apart from making a hole slightly larger the job was just replacing the existing one. These jobs always seem to take a lot longer than anticipated. More hole drilling and fiddling when I have finish this post.

Will probably leave the front door until tomorrow, that is a more complex job.

That’s my day so far, it is actually early arvo now but things are happening.

Take care…

Morning all.

Yet another warm and sunny day here in southern Hampshire

Not a great deal to add today. Had to take my father-in-law out for lunch and an ice cream by the seaside yesterday and deal with his health issues at the same time. Today is about running a few errands, taking Mrs G to the doctors and then the gym and a bit of holiday shopping afterwards. Biggest disappointment is my lens I want for my camera is out of stock, which means I’ll have to go with my old one on our cruise. Not ideal, but that’s my luck.

Anyways, have a great day today everyone…

:sunny:  :+1:

One trouble with having workers here is that I have to be up to open the gate for access and make sure all is ready …and make the tea. Oh well, it means I won’t be my usual lazy self for some weeks.

Supermarket day today. It will be an expensive shop because we haven’t been for a while.

Have a good day everyone.

This morning I have been having a serious look at replacing parts on the broken office chair.
So annoying when claims are made ie ā€œuniversal fitā€, which is totally untrue .Ffor example the plate that bolts to the bottom of the chair are different sizes
If you get get the right size then have to guess the hydrolic strut then fits into it ,depending on bore size. then again the 5 legs fit the other end. then hopefully getting the right cster size to fit into those leg struts.

So in the end best to scrap the whole lot and buy a complete new chair.
even then deciding o which is torment in itself. What with lift up arms and extended foot rests let alone the seat material

Morning all – some cloud this morning but sun is breaking through

As we had a day of hot sunshine yesterday I watered the neighbour’s garden last night, and managed to do so without breaking the hose!

Beast left just one small deposit for me this morning and after much thought and contemplation decided to leave the house and carry out her duties as garden inspector.

Had a lovely surprise yesterday when my sister-in-law called in. I haven’t seen her for a while so it was great to catch up

Plan for today is ironing and some shopping

Take care – have a lovely day all

Good Morning from Foxy’s World… :running_man:
Good news and bad news…
The good news is that I smashed my previous record on my 3.5 mile canal towpath walk/jog.
I managed to put in nine, yes nine, fastish intervals and knocked a good 5 minutes off this years previous best time…
The bad news is, the reason why I went so insanely fast…Firstly because I wanted to get home before John the roofer arrived, but the second reason I’m afraid, was being anti-social.
There’s this annoying bloke who lives just up the road and has taken to waiting for me to pass by his house and catch me up… :009:
He doesn’t run, and is a tad boring, and natters to me all the way round not allowing me to think of stuff…Or study things happening around me…
I caught him out of the corner of my eye crossing the road behind me, so I gave him a wave and jogged off…I knew that if I walked too much he would catch me up because he walks faster than me…So without looking behind I kept adding some short sections of jogging to keep some distance between us…It worked, and eventually he was no longer behind me, but seeing as it was going to be a good time I kept up with the jogging and it turned out to be exceptional…Knackered and sweating, but exceptional…Perhaps I’ll just walk steady tomorrow and bite the bullet even if he catches me…
I did feel guilty though…
:flushed:

Sat here filling out my journal and perusing the forum, I can hear the sound of saws and hammers as John puts the final touches to the fascias on the summer house…But! I still need to cycle round to the ATM at Tesco to withdraw the last 200 quid…
:biking_man:
If that bloke couldn’t catch me jogging, he’s no chance on my bike…
:sunglasses:

Good afternoon all!

I’m very much looking forward to an art exhibition at Chilli jnr’s college later this afternoon. He’s studying art and design and some of his work will be in display. I’m also looking forward to chatting with his tutor, she’s very informative and a terrific inspiration for him.

Hey Foxy, that bloke up the road, be careful what you wish for. Next time he might be waiting with his own bike …

Keeping up with the Jones’s and all that!

Enjoy the rest of your day people :+1:
