Good Morning Monday, 15th December 2025

Good morning all, it is a grey but warm day, no rain as yet.

Being a Monday it was the last coffee and cake meeting of the year so sad in a way but enjoyable as always.

On the way hope called into Big W and about $50 worth of books and chocolate for the secret santa on Christmas Day as approved by Jesus.

Have to order Potato salad from the local chicken burger place for Christmas too.

Only 10 more days to Christmas! The schools break up for the Summer holidays at the end of the week so the little buggers will then be cluttering up the place until February.

Enjoy your Monday.

Take care…

Well, I am so late to the Saturday party, that you have already chimed in on Sunday, Bruce.

I couldn’t start without expressing condolences and outrage over Bondi shooting, Bruce. The circumstances and location make it particularly sad.

I always get a little cognitive dissonance when you remind us that Christmas coincides with your kids’ summer holidays :upside_down_face:. They definitely have the advantage of an extra month of playing with all of their Christmas largesse!

Yes, yes, quite biblical of you, right down your a pilgrimage to Big W. :star: :dromedary_camel:

This morning I was still putting things back in order from the semi-unplanned soiree, and all the while this cormorant was soaking up the sun and facing the then-mild northerly breezes to dry off his feathers. He was frozen like that for almost an hour.

Yesterday’s high was 26ºC and tomorrow morning (Monday) it will be -1.67º. I worry about the cormorants and anhingas who don’t have completely waterproof feathers. I hope they fare well tonight and tomorrow.

And in anticipation of the coming arctic blast, my son and I spent yesterday afternoon wrapping the tropical plants in non-LED Christmas lights, which put out a decent amount of heat, and then covering them with plastic. The result is that I have all these ethereal and odd ghost looking blobs around the yard. This one covers a 12 foot travelers palm and the crab-looking shape is a palmetto, along with a sunpatien that is still hanging on. Not exactly the most festive-looking Christmas lights we’ve ever had, but like Rudolphs’ nose…is guess it…glows . :christmas_tree: :santa: :santa:

Some of the luckier ones are camping out in the garage for the next two days. We tented part of the garage and hope that will do the trick:

Aside from unwrapping and moving all the plants, tomorrow is a frantic day of sterilizing the house (I know, it’s weird) and packing the van with Christmas presents, wedding attire, dogs, and whatever we need to make the fifteen hour, thousand mile trip (almost to the mile) to Kansas. Two adult children, three large dogs, one husband, and a partridge in a pear tree :musical_note:.

I should be back online before Christmas, so in the meantime, have a very nice week and stay warm or cool depending on whether you are standing right-sit-up on this planet or upside-down :slightly_smiling_face: :upside_down_face:.

Cheers!

Hi

A day of heavy rain forecast, it has already started and it is heavy.

I am still recovering from my heart issues and will be doing very little today.

An Amazon delivery is all that is happening.

Have a Great Day all.

Sorry to learn of the terrible news from Australia Bruce, it’s just one thing after another in the world today. Have these things always happened, or is it that we hear about it more now. But despite that, these things are rare…Thank God…
Thanks for your words of approval and support yesterday Swim, you know I learn’t if off of you.
Safe journey Surfermom, only you could describe the temperature to two decimal places…
I didn’t realise it got so cold in Florida…Remind me to book my holidays there in July or something…
Speaking of low temperatures…it was a balmy 10 degrees C here when I turned out in the pouring rain to do a few sprints around my canal towpath route. Splashing through puddles that were almost up to my knees…(perhaps a tad of Exaggeration)…A good job I was in me shorts.
Mrs Fox is just on her way out to sing her heart out with the choir…I’ll have a nice quiet lunch…Soup of the day today…Lentil and Vegetable…I better be careful or else people will start thinking I’m a veggie… :009:

Afternoon all!

We’ve been doing some shopping in the mega branch of Tesco on the other side of town. It’s time to get some delectables in for Christmas and start planning the meals…

Family kindly sent us a gift card for Tesco in a digital form stored on my phone. Unfortunately when I tried to access the bar code from my phone at the till the internet thingy was playing up so I had to use the bank card instead! Bloody technology!!!

Enjoy the rest of your Monday people :christmas_tree::+1:

Apologies for the late entry, hope you all had an amazing Monday. I’m sat here in our hotel in London ready to fly out tomorrow. Just had the worst time with trying to checkin and boarding passes with apps and websites that don’t work, throwing all sorts of errors and random messages, had a heated conversation with the customer no-help line and we still have some things unresolved before we fly, so we’ll have to get to the terminal early to get everything straightened out.

Technology is a wonderful thing until.it goes wrong.

Have a great remainder of the day…
