Good morning all on this hot spring day, the temperature is going to get into the low 30s but tomorrow is supposed to be freezing! Not literally but over 10° cooler than today. Brrrr!
Monday cake and coffee morning today which was good, though it was tempered by the fact that one of our group was not well and unable to attend.
I have a few jobs to attend to in the garden which are going to be a bit hot and sweaty but there is always a nice shower waiting afterwards.
I will gladly send you some of our rain if you want it! It’s been raining since earlier in the afternoon. I hope everyone has a beautiful, blessed week ahead! 🩷🩷🩷
Well that’s just not good. We are getting rain until Wednesday. This morning I wished for some sunshine. Didn’t happen, but I think it will at the end of the week. I just love Autumn sun, it feels very unlike sunshine in the Summer time.
I guess maybe I should make the best of all this rain and chilly weather.
I hadn’t driven it for a few days but when I tried to go to the supermarket yesterday it just wouldn’t start
After some fiddling about and advice from YouTube it looks like the starter motor is stuck, or otherwise not working
Well I haven’t got a garage, it’s just parked on the car park for these flats, and I’m getting too old to crawl about knuckle grazing, so I’ll try a local garage
The garage I have used in the past closed due to retirement, but they recommended another small local garage, so I’ll have a walk to it soon, and see what happens
My car is a Fiesta, and there is a Ford dealer a couple of streets away, but I’ll try the independent garage first
So I didn’t drive to LIDL yesterday, instead I walked to a local green grocer, so I was still able to have a sardine salad for tea as planned
A damp, grey and drizzly day here in southern Hampshire.
I had plans to fill my day with sorting out the mess that is my lawn which I want to do before it gets too cold, but the rain has put paid to that, meaning I’m at a loose end today. I will be running my wife to and from the gym later and I have a ton of photos I took the other day to sort through. I also have a Firewire card to fit to my PC so I can start to edit some home movies, but I need to finish my pics first and run some backups before I give my PC some surgery.
What really annoyed me was finding out that aurora borealis was visible as far south as Hampshire due to freak solar storms - and I missed it! Capturing an aurora on camera being near the top of my ‘photographic bucket list.’ Maybe next time.
Wet and windy here today, with the temp reaching 18c later
I’ve put the heating on low, cleaned the fans to put away until next year along with the outside table and chairs, then it’s just the summer clothes to swap for autumn and winter
A wet morning here in the west midlands, but not as cold as i expected at 14 degrees.
Not much today, except a couple of appointments, then later continue clearing and tidying the garden for the coming winter.
Pleased to say my begonias are still flowering beautifully and will carry on until the first frosts, when then eventually will go ‘mushy’!
No, I was commenting on @caricature post, it is only the second month of Spring so it would have to be a miraculously early Winter, but we do get these surges of Antarctic weather in Spring though usually not this late. However 16° is a night time temperature hopefully it never gets that low during the day until next May or June.
It got up to 33° but a southerly change is coming up the coast which should arrive any time and will drop the temperature by 10°
A really exciting day today. Having used our hot air fryer (about 8-10 yrs old) the plastic pan release safety slide button broke on the handle. We can still use the item carefully but carrying something hot that might accidentally come apart is not the ideal.
So the Boss has been looking at a new one. This time by made Ninja . I did suggest buying on line but the boss wanted to see one first.
So off to Curry’s electrical store for a browser and examine different makes,end result came home with a new one
strange thing the one above in white was exactly the same in black ,even same model number but £50 cheaper.
Now we all known bosses are well known to save money where ever possible
