Good morning all, cold here too and snow showers for later apparently, although maybe milder over the weekend so it shouldn’t lie for long.
I’m just back from doing the weekend shop and wasting a few minutes on here whilst enjoying a brew. Nothing else planned for the day but who knows, something may turn up… I live in hopes…
Glad you enjoyed your brew Barry. Mine got cold while I was on the phone, trying to help sister. She still doesn’t have her new gas card from Bulb, and she tried the outlet this morning before going into work, with a new code to activate a blank one, and they no longer have one! I said this would happen. She has been without heating and hot water now for must be a week. The emergency £10 on the new meter, fitted Boxing Day, would have run out in days. She has to go to bed with a hot water bottle and extra blanket to stay warm.
I need to phone Bulb later, after the dog walk, let them do the phoning around, and see where her new card is, when was one sent.
Morning everyone, it’s dull and gloomy again today - seems to be the norm since the NY. BUT! I have started to notice the evenings lengthening a little - yesterday as I left my daughter’s house at 4.45, I was pleasantly surprised that it was still light, yay!!!
We’ll be going round to her house later this morning to walk the dogs - she’s got our son’s lab as well until Sunday while he’s away again. Then a bit of time at my sewing machine I think.
@PixieKnuckles you’ve got a new job! Congratulations, and hope it goes well for you x
I had completely forgotten that but you reminded me that when I worked in London in winter the morning rush and evening rush took place in darkness because the day was so short. It was possible to spend a whole day without seeing daylight (depending on where you worked obviously)
Good morning all …… and a very cold one too, sleet forecast for later.
No plans for today other than the usual chores. Mr Mags hasn’t been feeling too well for a couple of days so I have to creep round him when he’s sleeping.
Oh I remember that well too Bruce! I used to get the London train at about 7.15 in the morning, and arrive back home at around 6.30 in the evening. If I was lucky, I’d see a little daylight in my lunch break, but that was all!
Not your imagination, it really is happening!!! My granddaughter was very excited to see the bulbs we planted together in October starting to poke through in her little garden. Spring is definitely on the way ~does a happy dance~
Hey up, its tipping it down here now, dry earlier for the Alf walk, have been out to breakfast with a couple of ex workmates, having the house valued this afternoon just to see where we stand if we should want to move to be nearer the daughters .Enjoy.
It’s been snowing but not settled. Day off work today so we’ve been yo range and then for a pub lunch.
We has app with John’s pancreas consultant this morning and it’s not good news. He board discussed his case and he’s to have surgery around March to remove the tail of pancreas and his spleen. It means his immune system will be compromised and he will need to go on insulin .
Worrying times.
I’m booking a 5 day trip away in February today to center parks today so we get a break away before his op.
Will have to make arrangements for Dad I don’t like leaving him but we need a break.
