Good morning all, quite a bit cooler last night after the heavy thundery showers yesterday evening, but no complaints we really needed the water…
My last day at my daughter’s renovation project today hopefully, it’s been a slog for six weeks but well worth it now that it’s finished, and looking forward now to a few days R&R in Dorset next week.
Barry - would welcome a stint in Dorset at the moment. Already feeling the heaviness of the workload after a few weeks.
Today will be settling in the new year group while making sure that I can use the word, ‘no’ more frequently when being asked to do ‘another’ job.
A number of teachers already stressed as they are being asked to do more work on top of an already heavy workload. Have already pinned two teachers who may not last the term.
All I can do it keep on reciting the mantra - one day at a time.
Nonetheless, good thing this week - kept up the gym and feeling better for it.
The ground is drenched and squelchy after all the rain last night, so I’ll have to start wearing the wellies again. Other than that, no plans for the day yet…I’m up, dressed and breakfasted, so thats quite enough activity for pre 8am!
Off to a caravan for three nights today, so will spend the day finishing off packing and loading the car. Check in not until 4pm and it’s just a few miles up the A47. Sister said why don’t I go further afield. I replied I’d love to, but the dog hates being in the car now and always plays up. Unfortunately because I am dropping her off to the carer tomorrow morning, she will be in the car a few times! She has a one nighter so I can enjoy my birthday. (Sis is taking me out for lunch to the Harvester tomorrow.)
Will cook a roast for lunchtime today, as might not bother doing a lot of cooking in the caravan.
Had to rush about this evening making a bed for my daughter and SIL as they are rushing down from Canberra to buy yet another car (I have lost count of how many they own) They are bringing their car trailer I am hoping I can get them to take a couple of fridges to the dump on it.
Considering it was supposed to be the heaviest rain today it was surprisingly fine. Looking forward to a sunny weekend and picking up visitors from the airport next week.
