Good Morning - Friday 8th October

Morning all.
4am no idea what the weather is like.
Nothing planned as usual.
What an appalling service the BBC News channel nows offers.

It has been overcast today, little windy and cool (low 20s), I have been watching the council workers unloading gear for the footpaths they are going to construct.

That’s been my excitement for the day.

Take care…

Hi Bruce.
Living the dream mate livng the dream.:smiley:

Well I’m up early! It’s time to navigate traffic in the rain and spend my morning in WFC (work from car) as my son writes his next exams….

Have a fabulous FriYAY :grinning:

Good morning everyone! Friday at almost 7am. Pitch black and raining again. Determined to make this a fun Friday though, and not let the weather get me down. But first…breakfast! Have a lovely day everybody

He writes the UK Cambridge Exams which is examined by the British Council.

It’s quite a distance from home. Let’s not get me started on the traffic!

So, it’s best to just wait for him :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi

A stunning dawn.

Dry, no wind at all and a gorgeous set of blue sky and orange clouds.

A glut of tomatoes still ripening in the polytunnel.

Have a good day all.

I made tomato soup with my tomato glut Swimmy, and what a super brew it is… :+1:

Good morning everyone, mild morning here and forecast dry and warm later. Just pottering around today for me with a little gardening and a couple of jobs in the workshop, bangers and mash for lunch yum yum…

Enjoy your day folks

Ha ha the cloud cleared up late this arvo and all looked well until I had a look at YouTube.

All the action is 5km up in the atmosphere and the rain we need is on its way, naturally it would be too much to expect a gentle soaking rain!

Morning all, dry here, but dull and overcast. That’s OK, I can do dull and overcast. Got a hypertension review later - this just involves using the ‘patient pod’, a clever machine that weighs, measures, takes your blood pressure and heart rate and then prints out all the results in seconds. What, see a nurse or doctor? Don’t be daft, not if they can get machines to do it for them

It’s Friday, so my turn to pick granddaughter up from school and take her home - Mumma will be home about half an hour later.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning everybody.

Tony & I are going to Sutton in Ashfield this morning - it’s where the nearest Matalan is & I have some click & collect stuff to pick up.

Afterwards we’ll have a walk round Sutton Lawn - a lovely park area with lake. Then lunch at W/spoons and shopping at Morrisons or Asda.

Tony will definitely need a rest after that & when we get home he’ll be down on the settee till dinner time!!

Have a good day all.

I couldn’t find this thread earlier

Good morning everyone…hope everyone has a good day …destined for gardening here

Good morning all, on this rather dull and overcast Friday.
First week of October whizzed past already.

Nothing exciting planned, just a couple of online orders to sort out, a bit of shopping, then more gardening to finish.
I have got most of the autumn bulbs planted now, plus some prepared hyacinths for indoor displays, but still need to cut the grass and dispose of my tomato plants, they did well this year.

Have a nice day folks.

Morning all, pleasant out there, dry dog walk this morning. Have been and got two new tyres for the car, £191 fitted , they’re having trouble with supplies as well now. Enjoy.

Good morning everyone :slightly_smiling_face: a dull start but mild.

The autumn raspberries are doing well and I was able to have some for breakfast with my porridge.

Watrose have just been and I have yet to put the order away then sort out lunch, cauliflower cheese with roasted tomatoes and fennel salad.

My youngest grandaughter 10 has tested positive for Covid, that is 2 grandchildren down 3 to go. Sharing a car to school every day I am expecting the whole family to catch it :icon_sad:

A very belated good afternoon to everyone :slightly_smiling_face:

I was hoping for a bit of the sunshine the Met Office promised us today but no luck, it’s been grey and overcast all day

@Meg … that’s shocking news that your granddaughter has also tested positive for Covid … how are they both in themselves? What a shock it must be for you son and daughter-in-law. :worried:

@Mags Hi Mags I hope you are feeling better .My grandson is ok thank you and isolating in his bedroom , my younger grandaughter is doing the same and is also ok at the moment.
My son is taking my other grandaughter (the other twin) for a PCR test this evening and will have one himself at the same time though they both tested negative at home .
The 4 year old twins haven’t been tested we are hoping they will be ok.
