I am afraid it is not a very interesting day for me, the wind kept waking me during the night and this morning I found it far too cold and windy to go for my walk, I am hoping that the wind will die down this arvo and allow me to venture out. The sky is clear but it is so cold, it is supposed to be warming up a bit over the next few days with warmer nights too but today will struggle to reach about 20°.
Already I have been out twice to pick up my bins waiting for collection, the landfill bin has been collected but, as always, the recycling bin is still out there.
So far I have been doing a lot of reading and even some dreaded house work, I got the vacuum cleaner our to do the hall and my bedroom floor.
Apart from that? Dull, dull, dull. I am trying to stay in one room with the fan heater on.
enjoy the day as best you can. Life can be over in a second if a psycho so wishes. It’s been four days since a car driver ploughed into a crowd which I regularly walk along to meet with my brother in a restaurant. He killed two people and injured many. It happened at a time when we usually leave the place yet just this week we had shifted our meeting to Wednesday. Good decision.
Here you can see the restaurant and the arrow indicates the car’s direction.
I went there two days after. This is one of three spots where people got killed or injured and it shows bollards put there as a provisional precaution.
To my knowledge it’s the first time something like that happened raising the usual questions if it could have been prevented. Over here it’s not just a medical issue but one that has legal implications relating to our personal freedom.
Wishing you a nice day wherever you are reading this.
So true @Dachs a Mental person in my town stabbed 3 people to death and hit 3 more with a stolen van, they walk among us hearing voices to kill .You can count yourself lucky.
Nothing much happening for me ,I may go for a walk today.
Have a good day.
Not much going on at all, perhaps that isn’t such a bad thing. I’m awaiting a roll of monochrome film to be returned, well the 7x5 prints, from the processor. Hopefully some of which will merit scanning and posting on Instagram and Flickr. The joys of analogue photography!
Well that’s about it from me today folks!
Morning all – overcast today with lightening forecast for this afternoon (I hate lightening – been scared of it since I was a child!)
Not posted for a couple of days, I’m afraid the black dog descended with force – left me with some very dark thoughts
Anyway I have once again evicted it and hopefully it will take the hint and stop bothering me!
Didn’t feel up to the meeting with the girls yesterday – didn’t want to impose my bad mood on them
Neighbours returned from their cruise yesterday – asked them why they hadn’t brought the sun back with them, apparently they couldn’t fit it in their suitcase!
Engineer is due this afternoon to service the gas boiler apart from that nothing much else planned
Morning awl ! Strolled with the wee dog along the Roman Ridge - there are no cars there so she is free to roam without her lead. And now it looks like rain but she doesn’t mind that !
Afternoon everyone…
Had to do a longer walk today because although it was cloudy with a few spots of rain, it was so nice to be out in the country and away from the problems in the world.
I was especially pleased to hear the results of the local elections with Reform taking the lions share of the vote and replacing many labour MP’s in local councils.
Sorry to hear about the senseless loss of life in your town Dachs. People bang on about the human rights of incomers and non conformists, but what about the human rights of the innocent working people going about their daily lives?
Also sad to hear about the black dog descending on you Sheila, and Swim is correct, that all of us get mauled by that dog from time to time. Glad to see you back posting though…
Has anyone noticed how dire the forum is becoming? With constant criticism of Trump and his antics. It’s as though there is no other news and is becoming quite tedious now so I shall stick to threads like the good morning thread…
Good afternoon everyone, I’m sitting next to a fan heater too @Bruce, but it’s May, I really shouldn’t be!
Cold, grey and rainy today but hopefully warming up again tomorrow if forecasts are correct.
Ohh, that’s a lucky escape you had @Dachs! It must be quite traumatizing for you seeing that it happened in a place where you go often. Terrible for those poor victims, there have been so many of these incidents of cars purposefully ploughing into crowds, it’s so scary that it can happen absolutely anywhere.
Oh my goodness, and my first thought is that angels were directing that change of plans for you and your brother! It surely wakes us up to looking at everyday life from a different perspective.
I will send good thoughts your way to have a remarkable and calm Friday.
If I know you, you’ll appreciate today all the more.
As you say you don’t need to read it, I only look occasionally. This is a McDonald free zone.
It is good that you can overcome it, my first wife was a manic depressive when she was up she was great but the downs were awful. Frankly I never understood it really because I never get depressed (not in the true sense of the word).
