Good morning on yet another day in a series of identical days, at least weather wise.
Spend some of the morning messing about with a number of solar panels in my garage. One is a fake, it claims to be 130watts, it is far too small for that. Anyway I was just checking to see if they work and at the same time testing that my emergency battery charger still works.
There is no way that is a 130 watt panel. In bright sunlight (but not correctly orientated) it gave out 20 watts. That device hanging down my the side light on the bullbar measures voltage, amps, watts etc quite handy for this sort of thing.
That’s an el cheapo PWM solar controller that came with something else, I have repurposed it to charge a car battery in an emergency. Just testing it out - works OK. I throw it in the back of the car when going to remote areas. Am starting to get ready for the Oodnadatta Track trip.

I have been prescribed some new insulin syringes which I picked up yesterday
I’ve had a quick look at them and they’re similar to the old ones
My job for this afternoon is to read the instructions carefully, and start using them
I went for an early morning forage this morning with my son! Meagre pickings as far as the wild blackberries are concerned. This year’s crop is almost over and it’s only early August, the heatwaves have taken their toll
Morning all – another lovely sunny day. I know we need the rain but I do love the sunshine, although being very fair skinned I can’t stay out in it for long!
Took an hour’s drive to the next county yesterday for a dental check up – only to find my usual dentist has left and I was booked in with another! I only kept going there because he was very patient with me – looks like I may as well look for a local dentist
Plan for today is some housework and laundry and then, if I have the energy, make some space in the garage for a freezer. I do a lot of batch cooking and often run out of freezer space, especially in the winter.
Good morning - yes gorgeous day here as well, clear blue sky, and around 19 degrees at the moment, although a few degrees higher would be ideal for me.
Prefect day for messing about on the river (or near it) so that’s where i’m heading - the washing can wait another day.
