Good Morning Friday, 5th September 2025

Good morning everybody, today is a fair bit cooler than yesterday even though the weekend is shaping up well - 27° is forecast.

Had a fairly busy morning, got the bins in early, then a quick trip to the shops for milk. However it went downhill from then on.

Got the old Whipper Snipper out to do the edges of the lawn but it just refuses to start, absolutely no sign of life at all :frowning_with_open_mouth:

So disappointed I watched an episode of 2 Broke Girls, just turning the TV on before mid arvo gives you some idea of my outrage.

If I can’t get it started looks like some cheap Chinese Roundup might be the go.

Yesterday I was talking to my daughter in foreign parts and I mentioned I was thinking of visiting the UK next year (definitely only thinking) but she immediately said that she wouldn’t mind accompanying me. The only proviso was that it wouldn’t eat into her skiing in Japan! So who knows?

Looking forward to the weekend?

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Yet another sleepless night, I am beginning to give up on having a good nights sleep and resign myself to a series of short naps, not an ideal way to live.

My lower legs and both feet have ; gone to sleep; as we say, so poor Kinga has a hard 4 hours today on the large water change and filter clean on the Marine Tank with no help from me other than testing.

On the positive side, the forecast is better today, so am looking forward to some son in the windows.

Shopping wise, all I need is Cash and Alcohol, which Shiv can get this evening.

Have a great day all.

Morning all.

Nice and bright sunny day here in southern Hampshire, just come back from my daily walk.

Not a great deal of excitement here today. A handful of house chores, some paperwork needs looking at and I need to buy some bits for my camera which appear to have gone missing somewhere. Beyond that, I have a stack of pics which need editing which have been hanging around my hard drive for too long. However, before I do too much, I need to have my daily dose of morning coffee with the help of a muffin. Maybe two. (possibly three).

Have a great weekend all…

:cupcake: :coffee: :grinning:

Good Morning from a sunny South Yorkshire… :sunglasses:
It was very cold last night and the heating nearly made an appearance, but I resisted the urge.
I was soon warm once under the duvet.
A casual stroll along the canal towpath this morning, but the thin fleece jacket was necessary, and even a hat. The hat was more for the bright sunlight with the sun fairly low in the sky now.
Mrs Fox wasn’t very happy with me because as I opened the door, out rushed Rosie and jumped the wall into next doors garden…She’s Mrs Fox’s little darling and gets spoilt…More than can be said for me… :009:
I called her while on my walk, and apparently Rosie returned shortly after I left…I knew she would…I’ve looked after more cats than women during my life…
:black_cat:
Bloke turned up yesterday from Quickline to install my new router, and whatever they call that thing that turns a light beam into digital…He looked like an old country and western singer with his cowboy hat pulled low across his eyes…I half expected him to produce a guitar from the back of the van and give me a song…How his dog has died, his wife has left him, and now he sees life through the bottom of a whisky glass…He did a good job with my broadband though…

Good afternoon everyone, warm and sunny today, hopefully our Summer will continue for at least another month, it should do, we’re in the Mediterranean!
I went for a long stroll in our nearby town and decided it was time for an art and culture tour, so I decided to visit a new garden which has been recently re-opened, with modern sculptures Then I visited the contemporary art museum which has also the historical section, a hall hosting artefacts dated back to the Ancient Roman empire, from the temple of the Ancient Egyptian goddess Isis, a place of worship, very important for the Ancient Romans.
I have three other museums to visit tomorrow! I have actually already seen two of them, years ago, but they have all been renovated, adding new works and exhibits, so here I come! :classical_building:

Is it already that cold Foxy? :astonished:

Enjoy the rest of the day forum friends.

Not as bad today Rose, I think the wind has changed and is coming from the south and bringing in warm air from France and Europe. It’s forecast to last over the weekend.
It’s looking much like autumn here, the shortage of rain for the last few months has seen most of the trees losing their leaves already, and it’s getting dark at just gone eight…

I bet you wish it was a plug in one using mains electricity Bruce…They are always ready for action…
:sunglasses:

I am seriously thinking of buy a 18v battery powered one, possibly even a Ryobi one (cheaper) with an adaptor to use my Makita batteries.

A mains powered one would be totally impractical for the distance I cut over…

The problem is always the same it will be the carburettor for sure. Have to decide whether I will clean it or take to a mower place.
