Good morning everyone on this freaky Friday. Oh boy, it was cold this morning - 6° when I got up and it will only get up to 20° during the day. I hope this Antarctic blast will dissipate, my daughter messaged me to say that it was freezing in Canberra this morning (literally)
I have plans for today, I want to strip everything out of my car’s interior to give it a good clean and vacuum. It is full of dust and residue from my trip. If I can find the stuff I might use some of that plastic shining (Armour All?) stuff to make it gleam.
My daughter and her dog arrive this evening so she can attend some event in Sydney tomorrow, I will look after the dog while she is away.
When I mowed the lawn yesterday I didn’t use the catcher because the grass was so long it would have required emptying every row, so I will have to rake it up before it is trod into the house by the dog.
Meanwhile my new computer has cleared Chinese customs and is supposed to arrive here on Monday. I am really fed up with this one if only because the space bar is very intermittent and I end up with five words joined together, so annoying.
Despite the cold morning the sun is out so I am getting some washing done, hopefully it will be dry by mid arvo.
It is all go in Wollongong! Have a fabulous Friday, look forward to the weekend.
Good morning!
Cool & dull with occasional light rain
We’re trying to start a Men’s Shed and this morning is the first public meeting, at a local community centre
We’ll just have to see what the response is
It’s going to be a fair day with a predicted temperature of 25ºC but cloudy all day according to ventusky.com. This is the picture for 1.00 p.m, although the Sun is breaking through at present.
Not sure what we’ll be doing today. No definite activities or plans
Just come back from my walk, sunny with a fresh wind, although there’s a strong chance of rain later.
Not sure what’s happening today, but we have a list of bits and pieces we still need to buy for our cruise next month, in my case I need to replace one of my lenses for my camera, but not sure what one to get. Apart from that, there is a severe risk of going out this morning for a good old-fashioned fry-up breakfast, and of course, an essential coffee.
Was about to book my flights through Flight Centre yesterday but when they sent the invoice and payment details there were EIGHTEEN pages of terms and conditions! This came through around 4.30 pm and payment due by 5.30! I emailed to say I couldn’t pay by 5.30 as I needed time to read them – they have now extended the payment time until 12.30 today! I wonder how many people would actually read them! The first two and a half pages are about Covid restrictions and the rest listing all the things they are not responsible for!
Neighbours rang last night – they have booked a table for dinner tonight at the local pub – I don’t think I am allowed to decline!
Sheila
Send them back a list of what you won’t accept and your terms and conditions. give them little time to read them as well. Including fees for damaged luggage flight delays and poor in flight food
I would book through another company anyway
I have checked with other companies, the charges range from £400 to £900 to book the flights. Flight Centre make no charge and the flight costs are the same as booking direct with the airline.
One time it pays to go direct. one one of our holidays I asked the airline service desk (at the airport) about fight times and to my surprise they upped plane seating free of charge
Good Morning Everyone, a slack day at the Foxes, Mr Fox over did it on this mornings walk/jog and I’m feeling a bit wobbly…
It was a brilliant time though…
Mrs Fox has gone to Sainsbury’s with her friend to get the veg for the weekend, she reckons that Tesco veg is rubbish just lately.
I’m feeling better after my porridge and I’ll go out and have a look at the work that needs doing on the summer house. A bloke is coming out to look at the fence and give me a price, I measured up yesterday and can do it myself a lot cheaper. I’ll wait and see what he says tonight…££££££££££££££££
Just had a letter through from specsavers dated 27 May 2025 for 28 Mmay with free NHS eye test and today is30 May.
I think someone needs to go to vision express
Good morning all, sunny and warm today but an unusual strong North wind blowing making it feel much cooler than the 27/28C temperatures we should be having.
