Good Morning Friday, 29th August 2025

Good morning to all you forum followers on a cool but fairly sunny day. It’s a bit cold today with a fresh breeze and temps only in the high teens, definitely cardigan weather.

Been messing about in the garden because I have nothing particular planned for today. Watered all my pot plants after picking up half of them (blown over in the wind).

Tried to take a photo of my power board on the side of the house but the fence is too close to get it all in, Very annoying.

Had a very long phone call with my brother in the UK last night, it was good to catch up. Apparently he has the opposite problem to me, his garden is bone dry while mine is saturated.

I might watch the “Thursday Murder Club” on Netflix later today having nothing else particularly in mind. I quite enjoyed the book once I got started.

Have a lovely Friday, the weekend beckons and so does Spring! Whoopeee!

Take care…

Good morning everyone , at the start of the last weekend of the holiday month. For the last two days we’ve been having another heatwave which will break out into heavy rainstorms soon, this morning the sky is already full of dark menacing clouds. I just hope it all clears up for our trip on Sunday, fingers crossed.
That’s a coincidence Bruce, I bumped into that film yesterday evening when I turned on Netflix, I immediately clicked on it when I saw it starred Helen Mirren, but then I thought I’d
postpone it until this evening when I’ll have more time. I’m actually still busy finishing Zero Day and season 1 of The Diplomat.

I finally managed to buy the correct adaptor and convertor to connect my dvd and video players to the tv which doesn’t have a scart socket, so I can watch some oldies now.

It’s so strange hearing about the problem of no rain in the UK this Summer, definitely not how I remember it! On the other hand, we always risked droughts over here during the Summer months, but not anymore!

Have a good weekend forum friends and may Summer still continue throughout September, giving rain where it’s needed but not where it isn’t!

Good morning!
Sunny, dry, and warm

I’m going to a nearby town soon to visit the Men’s Shed; I’ve been there a couple of times to see what it was like, but now I’ve decided to join as an actual member - they did say that would be OK.

Other than that nothing to report

Good morning to all the good people on here…

Its a bit damp and wet here in southern Hampshire and I’m just about to go for my daily walk.

Not a fantastic amount of excitement going on today, other than unpacking from our trip we had around Somerset the last few days and unloading the meagre 400 pics I took from my camera and sorting through them. Need to buy some odds and ends online, fill out some forms and - more importantly - make my coffee. It seems as we were away, my father in law has had some care and health issues, which Mrs G is off to deal with today.

Apart from that, not really much else going on here. Hope everyone has a great day…

 :+1: :coffee:

Hi

Good Morning All.

It started dark and overcast, but now nice and sunny.

I have a sore throat, no warning, just started in the night, angina continues, I need a whole body transplant.

I like Fridays, Kinga is here for 4 hours, Shiv for an hour this evening

It ia water change day in the fish tanks, always fun.

The two cleaner shrimp in the marine tank are fascinated by Kingas fingers, It could be the shiny rings she has, and are all over her hands. Great fun to watch.

Both her and Shiv had a kilo or so of my tomatoes from the polytunnel, loads of different varieties, plus a couple of handfuls of chillies, yesterday.

I will get the verdict on what they taste like today.

That folks is my fascinating day ahead.

Enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

Morning all – sunny start to the day but we are forecast heavy rain and strong winds later

Yesterday someone was cutting my neighbours hedge and asked if I would like them to do the tall hedge behind my wall – gave me a quote, which I accepted. Before they started I asked if they took away all the cuttings – yes they did so told them to go ahead. After they started a different man said it would be an extra £40 to take away the cuttings – told him to stop as I had accepted the original quote and that was all I was willing to pay – surprise surprise he said they would cut the hedge and take away the cuttings for the original quote “as a favour”!

Got up late this morning and while enjoying my second coffee suddenly remembered I had an appointment to pick up my new glasses! Rushed out of the house without anything like enough caffeine in my system!

Not much planned for today

Take care – have a great day everyone

It’s chucking down stair rods here and the skies black so that’s my jaunt into the village abandoned.
I might rummage in my paintbox instead.

Good afternoon Everyone…
Yes, I think it was May. It was rather hectic at the Foxe’s this morning, there is a big art festival here in the village and Mrs Fox is doing a stall with her friend so had to rush off to prepare.
My daughters car went kaput on Wednesday and she takes it to a garage near me, the garage bloke said he had to order parts and they wouldn’t come until today. She lives about ten miles away from me at the other side of town…So guess who’s job it was to take her home yesterday and bring her back this morning…I had a quick peruse of the forum but it would not let me reply to the good morning thread. So when I came offline (you know…switch it off and back on again) It wouldn’t even let me back onto the forum…
:017:
And Oh! did I mention the 16 mile bike ride I had to do before any of this could occur?
Life goes on…But needs must…
