Good Morning Friday, 26th December 2025 - It's Boxing Day

Good morning on this cool Boxing Day, overcast after 0.5mm of rain overnight and struggling to reach 20° today.

I had a mission first thing today, as soon as the supermarket opened I was there to buy mushrooms and onions for our Boxing Day brunch.

Spent the rest of the early morning setting up a table and chairs in the car port, chopping mushrooms and onions, even buttered all the rolls ready for my visitors.

My daughter fired up the BBQ and cooked a fantastic array of eggs, onions, mushrooms and bacon for five of us. I have to say it was absolutely perfect, good chatter, playing with their dog. so good.

It is early arvo for me and they have all just departed so peace and quiet has descended once again. I went to do the washing up only to discover my son in law had already done it.

Considering two of my kids weren’t here it was a very lovely Christmas.

Enjoy your Boxing Day whatever you are up to, I am sure most workers appreciate the long weekend break.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

White over outside and due to get colder as the morning progresses.

An old tradition, bubble and squeak for breakfast today with a huge yorkshire pudding made in a tray with leftovers baked in it for lunch.

Boxing Day was always boring as a kid, Mum used to sit us down and we would have to write thankyou letters to all those who gae us presents.

Have a great day all.

Good morning!
Dry, clear, sunny

I spent most of yesterday sitting around eating & drinking, so today is The start of a New Leaf –
HUH! - Whaddya mean, not another one?

I’ve done some Tai Chi for the first time in a couple of weeks, i have to admit that it has slipped recently, and soon I’ll be going out for a walk round; probably just in the local park & streets, but it’s a start
I have loads of food in so I won’t need to do any shopping for a while, and I can get back to some of my hobbies; they too have slipped recently

@swimfeeders Yes, I was made to write Thankyou Letters when I was a boy, and I hated it
I swore that when I grew up and if I had a family of my own I wouldn’t make my children do that, and I didn’t

Good morning all!

Nice and mellow here, it feels good to be chilled after the big day. I’m getting my head around prepping up the beef joint for tonight.
The Thornton’s chocs are gradually diminishing…

Isn’t it nice that you get the little guide in hard copy…heaven forbid that I should eat the wrong ones :innocent:

Have a cool day people! :+1:

Good Day Everyone, I have to agree that Boxing Day is turning out to be the nicest most relaxing day of Christmas.
Christmas Lunch at the posh hotel was well worth the money, and saved an awful lot of work…
Lunch at the Earl of Doncaster…

Bring it on…

Daughter and hubby turned up for tea, so ham salad with stuff I only get to eat at Christmas and Jaws on the telly…What more could a Dad want…Mrs Fox checked out after tea and fell asleep in the recliner. All the excitement was too much…
So like your kids Bruce, daughter and hubby took over the washing and clearing up while I stood and project managed…

It was freezing cold this morning, but the walk/jog must go on…
Sorry about the quality, lens must have steamed up, but you get the idea.
Thick frost everywhere…

A better shot of the faraway church (about two miles) but it looked splendid as the sun rose in a clear blue sky…

Good morning - Nobody has turned up yet but it’s a kind of open day when any of the family can turn up or not as they wish. Didn’t get much sleep last night (see the medical thread) but not feeling too bad now.

TV and feet up if it stays quiet.

Have a good boxing day.

Lucky you OGF. I have thought about going to the club for Christmas Lunch but you have to book about a year in advance I am told. We are very poorly served by such events, everybody wants to be on the beach or in the park.

That was why I ended up going on a Christmas Cruise a couple of years ago because there was nothing else.

Oh! but you can keep your frost  :

My daughter, husband and his parents came over for brunch. I didn’t even cook she did, it was only bacon, mushrooms onions and eggs plus wholemeal rolls but it was perfect.

Thanks Bruce, after watching (and helping) Mrs Fox over the years, shopping, preparing, cooking and cleaning up afterwards I realised it was time for her to enjoy Christmas nowadays without the work and worry.
That bacon looks tasty…
