Good morning on a sunny winter’s Friday. Have absolutely nothing planned for today.
Got my laundry done early because there are showers predicted for the weekend, nothing dramatic, just a few mm but I wanted to get my bedding washed anyway.
It was a big odd seeing a pair of long trousers on the line, I haven’t worn any for years but I thought going to a funeral in shorts might be disrespectful (?). there is a nice drying breeze, the bed sheets are just about dry so they will be back on the bed very soon.
Bright sunny and a bit overcast here in darkest, deepest southern Hampshire.
Stuck here on my own again. Mrs G is taking my father in law to hospital for tests, meaning she’ll be gone most of the day. I have some work to do on my PC and a few jobs around the house I need to catch up on, as Mrs G doesn’t want to let me get bored. But none of that will happen until I have my daily walk and I may just pop into the coffee shop as I pass by for my daily coffee fix and possibly a bacon roll after. Possibly a muffin, maybe a cookie. Or two.
Just a morning tinkering around with minor domestic stuff, washing up watering the pot plants etc.
I’ll be pulling a ten hour shift in one of my hospitality jobs this afternoon and into tonight.
Must pop over the road and get a good quality tin of IPA to stash in the fridge for afterwards
Nothing much planned for today, just pottering & tidying & catching up on emails to friends
However, I have already done something useful … or perhaps not …
As if I don’t have enough already I’ve ordered another another cook’s knife – well it was in a sale
It’s still rising. It should be cooler up here in the hills, we hardly ever reach 40C like they do in town. It must be about 43/44 down there at the moment.
Good news is that today should be the last day of this exceptional heatwave, cooler, rainy days on the way.
I could fry an egg outside on the concrete, but I don’t want to waste them.
