Good Morning Friday, 25th April 2025

Good morning all on quite a sunny Anzac Day morning. Temperatures are in the mid 20s but more rain is on its way.

Was up early and took my new companion for a walk, she loves her walks.

We both enjoyed sweeping suburban views as we pounded the streets (though I think the dog was less impressed than I was)

Turned on the TV at 9am to watch the Anzac Day march in Sydney, eventually saw my son’s ship company marching but couldn’t pick him out. Ho hum, such is life. Will have a look at the Darwin March later as my youngest son’s GF is marching there

On other matters… Because of the recent rains the ground is saturated but I still have a lot of things to do before I leave on Monday. Will probably start packing the car on the weekend. Suspect I will be traipsing a bit of mud into the house.

Looking forward to the weekend and next week, the only flie in the travel ointment is a tropical low over the top end which could turn into a cyclone - where it dumps its rain is a bit of a concern. My route north and west is already severely limited by the recent flooding.

Not to worry there’s always plan B.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning All.

A chilly 5C here at the moment.

I was looking forward to a rare 4 hour trip out today, but my readings are all over the place, so best stay in.

I hope the weather stays good enough for your trip Bruce, looking forward to reading about it.

Have a safe day all.

It’s all good, just checked the BOM site

Tropical Low 30U

The risk of 30U has decreased and it will no longer be tracked.

  • Tropical Low 30U is located in the Arafura Sea north of the Top End.
  • It will be slow moving over the weekend, likely moving closer to the NT coast and bringing an increase in showers and storms.
  • Next week the system will be steered westward through the Timor Sea and into the Indian Ocean, where it will eventually dissipate.
  • There is a Very Low risk that 30U will develop into a tropical cyclone. As such this disturbance will not appear on subsequent forecasts. The situation will continue to be monitored and updated here if required.

Good morning!
Bright, clear, and sunny!

Which is fortunate as it’s the Backpackers Club AGM this weekend
They have it in different parts of the country each year, and it’s in North Wales this year

My bags are packed so I just have to load the car, and I’ll set off mid morning, which will give time for the rush hour to clear

Aren’t you supposed to hitch hike there carrying your backpack? :icon_wink:

Good morning. Not a bad one, Fairly bright and warmer. Off into town soon to sort a few financial matters out, then on to the pharmacy to pick up medical stuff… Not sure what I’ll be doing after that.

Have a good day

Morning all – another dull, cloudy start to the day

The usual meet up with the girls yesterday was even better than normal! We were laughing so much that a man at the next table wanted to join us – sorry ladies only!!

Called into my neighbour to return a dish, had a lovely chat and left with home made cake (of course that wasn’t the real reason I called in!)

Plan for today was to go to a coffee meet up at church, but have received notification that a parcel I was expecting on Sunday will be delivered today so, as there is no “safe” place outside where it can be left I will have to stay here until it arrives.

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Morning all. A busy few days for me. Have to clean my car out today - been promising to do it for ages but never got round to it. Have to get ready for a paid photoshoot tomorrow morning and then I’m taking “Mrs G” up to Birmingham to see a show on Sunday.
