Good morning Susie and all who follow
Sorry to hear you are in pain Susie…my hubby suffered dreadfully with hip pain before he had a replacement thankfully no pain now…I hope you feel better soon
I have a summer cold I was supposed to be out with pals later but I’ve cancelled because of coughing and sneezing …colds are miserable aren’t they
Another lovely day here so I will be in the garden…have a great day all.
Good morning all, cloudier here today and not much sun forecast, bit it will be a good chance to water the garden without it immediately evaporating…
Nothing much on my agenda just the bathroom to clean and a curry to prepare for lunch before sorting out the Snapshot competition entries this afternoon.
Hope your pain eases soon Susie, take it easy for awhile…
Enjoy the day everyone
Morning all.
Take it easy Susie.
I could probably do with watering a few plants, front and back. Now I have a larger bucket, I also have the means to wash the car (with my new cordless jet wash). The tubing needs to be fully submerged, and last time I used a watering can, and hadn’t fully read the instructions. Still got seagull poo on the car.
Then later, I will select another book from my library pile to start on.
Good morning all cloudy but warm at the moment.
Final touches to our packing today before we are off on our holiday with the family tomorrow to Devon.
Enjoy your day folks
Morning all.
Got to talk with my favorite person on the phone yesterday. That was fun. Talked about some cooking shows.
Besides watering and taking in my trash can, not much else planned.
Have a beautiful day everyone.
Morning all
Cloudy here today but warm.
All packed and ready to hit the road home after a wonderful 4 days in the country.
The people who live here are so lucky I hope one day that we can move to such a beautiful part of the country but probably not, the property is very expensive which I can understand as it’s stunning scenery is marvellous.
Oh well back to reality it is. Missed my Dad though so looking forward to seeing him. Hes missed me too but thankfully he’s been fine with regular phonecalls.
Here are some pictures, hope I haven’t already posted them as I cant remember if I did.
Hi
A Grey but warm start to the day.
I did not have a good night, so getting extra help coming today.
Have a good day all and stay safe.
Another sunny cool day.
Finally finished re-greasing my camper bearings - It has taken weeks because of a lack of bearing seals.
Did a bit of shopping and emptied my PO Box, was pleasantly surprised by a delivery from China of a small copper sheet I needed for a project, it wasn’t expected for another couple of weeks.
I was looking forward to a visit from my son and his family but he rang to say he had been called back to his ship and was going to sea but might be able to come down next Friday. I was rather counting on him to help me move my old sofa out and build the new one but then I got a message from youngest son telling me he was coming down on Monday so he might be able to help me.
Ho hum, quite a busy day, one door closes another opens… or something like that.
Enjoy your day
@LionQueen - Great photos, Queenie, I am glad you have had a good break - you and John needed it after all you have been through in the last 12 months.
Tell John he has great legs - Foxy will have to look to his laurels!
Good morning everybody.
Nice pics Queenie.
I would like to say I lived in that part of Derbyshire but my home is in Derbyshire’s industrial area!!
I think John looks wonderful considering all he’s been through. Have a safe journey home.
Have a good day everybody…
well daily walk done up the steep alleyway to the top road and along then back home without stopping, only managed this once before.
typing on this keyboard is a real pain when the middle fingerf on the left hand is perminantly out of joint
Looks a relaxing place, LQ. Hope you had a good time.
I have been out testing my cordless jet washer. First tried it on some fencing in the garden (the green algae), then on the car (seagull poo). Can’t figure out the foam pot attachment, but used the brush. Her next door, out smoking, commented ‘you’ll be doing it all again later.’ I just answered with ‘I’ll do it every day if I have to. I’ll beat the b*****s yet.’ Personally I think they were being nosy, as they may have heard me using it in the garden.
Anyways, first impressions…it has good pressure - 450 psi. Bloke the other side, who had been using his dad’s when I first saw the jet washer and said I could do with a cordless, suggested I buy a stiff broom if I wanted to clean the paths. I will get that another time.
Waiting for a GP call back (which I missed when out at the car) so will just faff about indoors.
Great pics Queenie.
Whose car is that?
For those who are unaware
I worked on many wheel bearings, what I found was some over tightened that castle nut causing wear. the main thing is to make sure it is packed on either side if the bearing with the correct grease then tighten until can’t turn and back off until just free spins, if the castle nut is not in the right position for the split pin then a metal washer on before the castle nut usually did the trick
for those interested to check for loose bearing jack up and grab wheel top and bottom and see if there is any play/movement
just got the luggage labels and suitcase tags from the holiday company, feels as if the holiday is getting closer now
Thank for the advice but I have been doing this for 50 years at least without a problem.
As a rule of thumb, tighten the nut up as hard as you can by hand (no spanner) the back off one flat and it will be damn near perfect
I realise you know already Bruce but others may not
