Good Morning Friday, 23rd May 2025

Good morning everybody, the weekend beckons.

I am in Dubbo tonight before the big push home tomorrow. I thought you might like to see some of local the cotton crop all bailed up ready for export. There are acres of bails like these.

When I first travelled these roads after the cotton harvest it looked like it had snowed along the edge of the road so much cotton is dropped from trailer carrying these bails. You might be able to see a small amount that remains on the verge in these photos.

Anyway my Darwin Trip is almost over. When I get home I shall be ordering a new computer, I am thoroughly fed up with this one, the keyboard is falling to bits and the touchpad gets the hebbies intermittently.

Have a fantastic Friday.

Take care…

Hi

A chilly, misty start to the day, a typical start to a Bank Holiday Weekend.

County Show is tomorrow, so traffic will be manic starting today.

A busy day, deliveries, collections, visitors.

I also have trays of seeds to sow and 100 litres of seawater to get ready for a large water change in my marine aquarium tomorrow or Sunday.

Luckily I have the very organised and hard working Kinga here for 4 hours with Shiv later.

Have a good day all.

The Sun is shining. There doesn’t look to have been an overnight frost, as was a possibility according to the weather forecast. I’ll need to ride along to the pharmacy at some time today. but apart from that, it should be a day off from doing anything in particular. It’s the last sunny day for a while so might just sit around in the garden.

Have a good day everyone

Morning all – another sunny start to the day although a lot cooler

The good news is the gardener has received permission from his wife to work on Bank Holiday Monday, the bad news is the forecast is rain!

Squirrels managed to break one of the bird feeders again to get it onto the ground. Managed to repair it while the birds lined up patiently on the wall waiting for me to finish and fill the feeders again

I am currently reading a book where the villain persuades people to join a cult via an internet site then to riot and murder – the villains name isn’t known but is simply known as X – I will leave that there!

Today’s plan is to go to a coffee get together at church (hmm anyone else notice how much of my socialising revolves around coffee!)

Take care – have a great day everyone

Morning all

Hot and sunny again down here by the seaside in Hampshire. Just got back from my walk and keep an eye on the young cygnets which had hatched a few days ago in the small waterway not far from me. I keep meaning to buy some feed when I go round, and take my camera when I do.

Not sure what’s happening today, I will leave that in the capable hands of “Mrs G” - but not before my morning coffee and biccky’s,

Have a great day all

God morning!
Dry & clear

I haven’t posted anything for a few days as I feel rotten – cold, shivery, tired, and sort of shaky or slightly dizzy
I can be walking along OK but then out of the blue I just have to stop and hold on to something as I feel like I’m about to fall over, on a perfectly level floor or pavement
And I definitely need to use the handrail on stairs, going up or down

I’ve phoned a couple of friends and apparently there’s a bug going round at the moment, and it looks like that’s what I’ve got
The advice is to keep warm have a cup of tea and a couple of paracetamol, and get into bed if you can

Well I don’t need any encouragement to do that, so I’ll see you again in the not too distant future

I remember a similar time. I don’t know where I read it but swans are supposed to like peas. My brother and I rode to where the nest was and I got some carefully packed peas out of the saddlebag. We threw them in the water and the swans came up, took one look at them and swam away again. Ungrateful lot!

Good afternoon everyone, it’s a been a hive of activity here just lately but I have had time to squeeze in reading all the posts. Managed to do my walks yesterday and this morning, and it looks nice and sunny, but still nippy around the extremities first thing.
Some preparation work to do on the summer house before painting, and the bloke who was favourite to put up some new fencing tells me he’s booked up until November…I found a supplier of the composite stuff I want, so might have a go myself…What could possibly go wrong?
