Good Morning Friday, 21st March 2025

Good Morning to you all on this overcast Friday, there are showers forecast but I will believe that when I see it. It was a bit warm overnight but today should be fine, in the mid 20s.

Woke up about 6am when I suddenly remembered that it was bin day. Threw on some clothes, checked that the neighbour’s bins hadn’t been collected and got the bin out just in time for the truck. Phew! Lucky escape though to be honest if I didn’t put my bin out for a couple of collections I’d still be OK.

Later I dragged out the vacuum cleaner and ran it over the floors in the rooms I use, still prefer my carpet sweeper most of the time - so much easier.

Apart from that, have no idea what I am going to do today, absolutely nothing planned, no grass needs mowing, no jobs on the camper. Ho Hum… Will have to make a job. Might ring bark a branch that is straying too close to the house, yes, I am that desperate.

Have a fabulous Friday, looking forward to the weekend?

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Bright dry and warm here, the last dry day for some time.

A lot to assimilate today, my daily routine to change, changes to medications, food, a whole list of things to change.

Have a good day all.

It will take some time to adjust.

Morning all – overcast dull start to the day – hoping for some sunshine later

Mixed feelings today – it would have been our 55th wedding anniversary

Beast went out for a couple of hours yesterday to sun herself, refused to go out this morning but demanded cuddles again! Will pop back in later to see if she wants to go out (wish the neighbours would get a cat flap!)

Had a lovely meet up with the “girls” yesterday – we sat outside in the sun and, as usual, were the last to leave (we even helped the staff pack away the chairs!)

There is (another) coffee get together at the church this afternoon

Take care – have a great day

Now I appear to be mobile again I’m going to pump up the tyres on the bike, oil the chain, and go for a short ride, about 8 miles out in the country.
A bit cool early on (7 C ) but warming up nicely now the sun is breaking through the thin cloud.
I don’t bother throwing any clothes on to take out the bins @Bruce, just wangers and tee shirt will do.
:astonished:
I hate changing my meds @swimfeeders something always goes wrong, like a gout attack I experienced recently. I’m still not taking my Isosorbide because I thought it was responsible when they took me off ramipril and put me on that.
Sorry to hear about your wedding anniversary @SheilaP 55 years is a long time together and I can’t imagine what you must be feeling today…Perhaps the cat knew? Sometimes its strange what animals can tune into…
:hugs:

That’s disgraceful Eliza, the NHS has gone belly up, and helped by the government who have allowed a massive influx of people into the UK before making sure that the infrastructure is capable of handling such a sudden rise of population.

Hi

Two different meds for two different things.

Ramipril is for high blood pressure

Isosorbide is to prevent Angina attacks.

Each angina attack can damage the heart a little bit, so it gets weaker and weaker over time.

It wll prolong your life Bob and ensure you can keep active.

It is a Nitrate, just longer acting than your GTN spray and not as strong.

It will be a disaster for you to have your heart weaken, Heart Failure is a horrible way to die,

Thanks @swimfeeders I did intend to resume taking the Isosorbide again once my gout has cleared up completely. I’ve still got some lasting effects from the gout but am able to start walking and riding again.
The pain from the recent attack was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced from gout and would sooner have had a heart attack instead at the time…
I’m still not sure why the attack of gout was so severe, but I will avoid another one at all costs.
Something that happened during my recent visit to hospital with angina pains must have provoked the attack, and the only thing that was unusual was the injection I had in the tummy last thing at night. After talking to a doctor he thinks the injection was an anticoagulant, perhaps ‘Heparin’ so the internet says that ‘Heparin’ does increase the uric acid in your blood, and if you are susceptible to gout it could provoke an attack.
Thanks for clearing that up about Ramipril versus Isosorbide.

Thought I’d just pop in before turning in. The 8 mile ride turned into an eleven and a half mile one. It was so nice, warm and sunny and I just took the long route home…
Not much happened at home afterwards, just lunch and some recordings of ‘Battlebots’ and ‘FI’ to catch up on…Well done Lewis Hamilton…Red suits you… :+1:
RIP to the great Eddy Jordan…

That’s a new one, I have never heard of a doctor chucking someone off their books unless they never go. I think our system is different, the doctors are self employed and you can sign on with as many as you like, however not all Bulk Bill ie charge Medicare direct and cost the patient nothing. Specialist consultations are definitely not free.

That’s a good sign but don’t over do it. Too many men with heart disease kill themselves with too much exercise.

You’re just getting me worried, Eddie Jordan and George foreman were both younger than me.
