Good morning Friday 21st Jan

Good morning all, not so cold here now as the cloud has rolled in so I didn’t need to defrost the car earlier. :sunglasses:

Back from doing the weekend Tesco shop and contemplating the day which will no doubt include the usual walks, but I also need to pop over to see my daughter and take a gift for my grandson’s birthday on Sunday.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Morning Barry and all who follow. Well it’s flippin’ freezing here! But at least it’s bright and sunny, so not complaining.

My son will be round with his dog in a mo, as he and his fiance are having one last long weekend in their place in Spain before the baby’s born in a couple of months. We’ll take Kiedis up to our daughter’s house later as she’ll be looking after him.

Have a good Friday everyone (no, not that Good Friday, that’s another three months yet )

Good morning all, on another cold morning. - 2 here at the mo.
Dogs done, wild birds done, now it’s time for my own brekkie and the first cuppa of the day.
Nothing wildly exciting planned, so hoping for a nice easy day.

Morning all.

@SilverTabby , our lovely Martin is 77 today! Wow.

My nose and head are still quite painful so I will take it easy for a few more days. The place needs the vac going round it but I can’t bear all that bending over, or fighting Holly for the end of the machine.

Do you know, after going out yet again, yesterday, I thought…tomorrow, after dog walk and breakfast, why not go back to bed? Still in a state of undress, and dog not been out yet, so might get myself a shift on now.

My youngest son arrived early this arvo after being delayed at work. He dropped off his dog for me to look after, wasn’t able to stay very long because he had to get back to Sydney for duty tomorrow before flying down to Victoria on Sunday. I took the dog out for a short walk. The butcher was out of chicken necks for him but I will try again next week.

My middle son rang to tell me he was driving to his Sydney flat from Canberra to rejoin his ship and that he sails next Friday. Because of covid no family can see them off. All I know is that they will be going to the South China Sea for a freedom of navigation exercise, then Singapore and India but very little in the way of port visits, again, because of covid.

I also heard that HMAS Adelaide has an outbreak of Covid - this is not good for the Tonga relief effort because Tonga is free of covid and wants to stay that way. All RAAF flights with aid supplies have been non contact.

Well, that’s my news as the sun goes down, enjoy your day.

Good morning all :slightly_smiling_face: a cold and frosty one too, temperature is -4°C at the moment …. brrr.

Nothing planned for the day other than trying to ease the old bones and keep warm.

Enjoy your day folks… :slightly_smiling_face:

morning all

No frost here this morning, 2 degrees when I got in the car.

Off to see Dad when I finish work then home. My husband has to go to hospital at 1pm for a covid test ready for his big operation on Monday…

I’m not going anywhere else so I won’t be around other people.

I’m feeling really emotionally drained today so I’m going to take a nap when I get home.

Have a happy Friday all.

Good morning everyone :slightly_smiling_face: it is still below freezing here.
After a bad night it is tempting to do very little but I took Chloe out/washed my hair/changed the bed and washed the sheet/ washed the kitchen floor trying not to bend my back and am about to prepare lots of vegetables for a stir fry lunch.

I hope it warms up a bit so I can hang the washing out.
Enjoy your day :slightly_smiling_face:

The most exerting thing I did this morning was rummage in the freezer for bread, milk and something for supper (brought out a jacket potato, and will cook sausages and beans), phoned the computer shop, and researched online myself for the laptop battery, which he had failed to do! He sent a photo of it, I sent a photo back of what I’d found and he responded with “blimey, that’s good price”. Just under £35.

So I have ordered it, coming by Yodel, which hasn’t inspired me with confidence, and possibly a long wait.

I’ve just received a parcel via Yodel a day early, so all hope not lost for them…

What Holly did, lol. Looks worse on camera than in the mirror.

What on earth happened?

Jazzi what happened? I hope you are ok x

:flushed: What happened Jan, you OK?

Holly nutted me two nights ago. She loves flicking her ball about for me to catch but this time I was bending over to grab it, she flung her head up, and caught me under the nose!! Hard!

I groaned, put my hands to my face, and realised I was bleeding. Had to dash to the bathroom for a flannel. Grabbed my iPad and went on FB, asking if any neighbours were about, then did another post saying I needed first aid. My legs were shaking.

One neighbour came to my front door with her two young boys, her husband was messaging from work, girl across the road had gone out, so I told the one from next door to go back indoors with the kids.

Tried phoning the one neighbour who gave her mobile, but she was at work miles away. Strangely, she hasn’t bothered asking after me since. But the father next door did message me the next day, asking if I was better.

I had to do self first aid, and just waited for the bleeding to stop. The pain was, and still is, awful. Carol wondered if it was broken. It feels like it, but what would be the point in going to A&E? I just have to wait till it settles down of its own accord.

You can only see the bruising if you stood right close to me. It’s not bad. But then again, it could be the start of it.
