Good morning everyone on this very autumnal first of October. Tipping down here at the moment but forecast to clear later so the dogs may get a walk after all.
Mainly kitchen duties for me today after doing the Tesco run, I’ll be making some chicken leek and mushroom pies, stewing up some fruit and making some beefburgers for lunch so busy busy busy…
Morning
Do you only walk your dogs in good weather.
I had a cat that used to nag me at around 6 am for me to get up and take her for a walk no matter what the weather except snow which would make her grumpy all day.
I was woken at about 4am by a massive thunder and lightning display right overhead. If the weather radar is to be believed it is about to happen again this arvo. I can hear the rumble of thunder in the distance.
We are due for storms here today.
I can cope with thunder but not lightning. As a child I used to like watching storms bu - having had three ‘too close for comfort’ encounters with lightning I have gone off the whole deal. I’ll be in the wardrobe with the cats!
Raining here at the moment - may have thunderstorms later - if they arrive, I will be in the wardrobe with the cats - if they don’t arrive, I’ll be in the Craft Room working on a couple more gift ideas.
@carol - how is the trap nerve? Easing a bit I hope. @Barry - those pies sound lovely! @susiejaeger - good luck with the doors - they can be tricky devils!
Speaking of storms:
I remember once landing at Faro airport in the middle of the most violent storm.
The plane was bein tossed side to side & up & down like a bit of paper.
A lot of people looked worried & my poor Tony was terrified - his fists were clenched so tight.
I just sat there & enjoyed the experience. Logic told me the plane was made to withstand such conditions.
Good morning! Can’t believe its October already! Its chucking it down outside in the usual Scottish manner, cars slooshing up water onto the pavement…I just hope I don’t get too soaked when out with the dog. No plans for the day yet, but first, breakfast. Have a lovely day everybody!
We walk them most days even if it’s raining but not if it’s hammering down, it’s not just us that don’t want to go, we can’t even get them out of the door, even with their coats on!
Our forecast is light rain showers and a fresh breeze, but looks like a low percentage chance of rain, thankfully. Neither Holly nor I like being out in the wet, or the wind. It’s been rather unpleasant this past day or so.
I love a good storm, and am very lucky that Holly is unfazed by them. I have even walked her near fireworks and she is not bothered.
No plans for me today.
Oh, forgot to say, am booking the train to get to Barry’s place, in time to sample all his cooking!! Sounds wonderful.
