Lovely and warm today which made a change after the last few days got to the mid 20s but this arvo the rain came back but at least it wasn’t cold.

Sorry, but as reported before, my text box shrinks to nothing when I start the thread.
Off for my prescription review blood test at 9.30 this morning. I need to have a word with the nurse as I seem to be starting a cold, and my Covid booster is booked for tomorrow at 11am. A Google search did show up that it is okay, if only mild symptoms like blowing the nose, but I have a very mild soreness in the throat. I have started with the Flu Defence this morning, to try and beat it off.
I have had something hanging around me since the flu jab two weeks ago. Constant nose blowing, making it sore. Goodness knows if it is connected, maybe not, but wonder if best, because of horrendous after effects being reported of the booster, if I should just go ahead and rebook? Maybe then I can find a clinic closer to home.
Yesterday evening, I took Holly on a different route and she was sniffing around a car (maybe a cat) as I stood on the pavement, lost in thought. Suddenly a male voice went ‘excuse me’. Well, maybe I over reacted, but I jumped out of my skin, saying ‘oh for G’s sake. Bl***y hell!!’ He just carried on walking past, probably thinking ‘silly moo’.
A FB friend replied she wondered why I hadn’t punched him. I said I was too busy seeing my life flash past me. My fault really, for not being more alert.

Making a trifle later and generally working in the kitchen (if you can call it that at the moment)for family party tomorrow

Good morning everyone! Dark and a bit gloomy still, but it seems dry so that’s ok. Not much on the To-Do list today, apart from collecting a watch from the jewellers. It needed a battery replaced after sitting on the shelf for ages and I didn’t notice it had stopped. 
Also found a spicy cheese sauce recipe that I’m going to try out. Its for a dipping sauce, but I’m sure it will be nice with pasta or something as well.

Tis cold, barely light and gloomily threatening rain down here; not at all a good start to the day, but hey, the day is young so who knows what will happen as it ages

Good morning everyone, mild here again but a cold spell forecast going into next week they say, I just hope there’s no snow to accompany it… 
I have a leak under my daughter’s kitchen sink to fix later but nothing else planned as yet.

There was a ground frost earlier, the forecast is for a cloudy morning with limited bright or sunny spells. Maximum temperature 14ºC.
Nothing much to do today unless I choose otherwise, I will just see how the day goes.

Good morning all.
Not a good start. The bathroom washbasin has conked out. It’s one of those plunger push down things instead of the usual plug, but its conked out and it won’t hold water all of a sudden.
Also got yet another veterinary appointment with Liffey at lunchtime. Trouble with her water works! 
Still got the last few pots to bubble wrap before the cold spell which is coming after this weekend.

Just turned the heating on, its not cold cold but a dampish cold , if you know what I mean.
Morning all, another mild day, not exactly sunny, but not dull either.
I’ve got a fruitcake in the oven, a recipe I simply could not resist trying - it’s only got 3 ingredients: mixed fruit, chocolate milk and self raising flour! I’ll let you know how it turns out. It takes 2 hours on a very low oven, and then you have to turn the oven off and leave it in there for another half hour! Has anyone else come across this recipe and tried it?
I did finally finish the coat I was making for my granddaughter, hated every minute of making it, because it was soft shell fabric (an athletic water repellent fabric) which you can’t stick pins in because the holes will show, so I had to use little wonder clips instead. Then, even worse, I lined it with the softest sherpa fabric I have ever had the misfortune to sew with. Honestly, it felt like trying to sew candy floss together 
So pleased it’s finally done and I can get on with things I actually enjoy making!

Good morning everyone a really lovely sunny start to the day .
Waitrose dealt with and lunch prepared I have just made 3 dozen mince pies for the family to take up tomorrow. My son and daughter in law have both been in contact with C19 but testing ok so far, I will be keeping my distance and sitting outside their house while I drop some things off. I am happier with this batch made with my own recipe for mincemeat, the last lot was a Mary Berry recipe and I didn’t like it .
I want to do some jobs in the garden after lunch .
