Good Morning Friday, 17th October 2025

Good morning all from the federal capital of Australia. I am in the suburb of Gungahlin at my middle sons house.

He is at my house waiting for his wife to arrive, so they can go to a concert tomorrow. Have to remember to pick up the lids from school this arvo.

Just mowed their front lawn with the world’s most useless mower - a battery powered Ryobi - even a push mower would do a better job.

Enjoy your Friday, tomorrow is the weekend for the workers among us, have a good one.

Take care…

Good morning all…

Bit of a busy day here. Dropped off the wife at the Chiropractor, then off to meet her sister and then her brother, off to see the florist to make final arrangements for the big family funeral next week. Probably look for a pub lunch somewhere and fit in a coffee at some point.

Anyways, have a great weekend all…

Good morning - Grey but dry. No rain expected until Sunday. Life is still revolving around the hospital. Everything is medical for both of us lately.

Have the best day possible.

Morning all – did you miss me? No I wasn’t banned (again) my computer was playing silly b****** and I had to take it to my friendly computer nerd who, as usual, worked his magic.

Weather is grey and overcast – doesn’t do much for my mood

Been quite busy, went shopping but couldn’t find a jacket I liked, bought an electronic timer switch which doesn’t work and visited the dentist!

Neighbours are away for the weekend and I have volunteered to look after the beast – yes I know I am a softy but it is only for 2 days (just hope she behaves herself or my knees may give out!)

Take care – hope everyone has a lovely day

I have a battery mower. It is OK if the grass isn’t too long to start with. No good if more than a few weeks growth is there. It looks like that’s the case with many, or maybe all, of them. If the grass is long, the mains powered one always does the job.

Good morning! I’ve been catching up with the forum news and hope you are all doing well.

It took forever to get the internet installed, but the “space place” is now situated complete with furniture drug out of storage and, after several nights camping on air mattresses, real beds. Though the east coast of Florida - beaches and communities - are far different than up here on the gulf, this should be a fun place to explore. The Atlantic is about 200 feet from the house and Cape Canaveral is within a 30 minute drive. The downside? Reveille is blasted just outside the back door at 7:00 a.m :face_with_spiral_eyes:. The younger generation was not pleased .

I was fortunate to catch the SpaceX launch (bottom photo) of some Amazon satellites on Monday, incredibly, the second SpaceX launch of the day, with the other being launched from Texas. The Texas launch, the final test launch of its “iteration,” included a controlled landing in the Indian Ocean forty minutes later. The goal of 40 minute global passenger travel is still alive and well, but the obvious barrier will always be the cost. The Kuiper launch of the satellites, much of it recycled, was still $52 million.

It rained most of the time due to a lingering depression, but it cleared up on Sunday opening up the skies for the Monday launch.

Have a great day!

You’re probably right, I still haven’t finished after charging the battery three times, as you say it can’t cope with long grass. If there is a next time I will throw my Victa in the ute, a four stroke Briggs and Stratton can cope with anything. I wouldn’t buy any sort of electric mower, even mains - I doubt that there is a power cord long enough.

I probably would have been better off using the Whipper Snipper I bought him but I wasn’t sure if he had petrol.

No truer truth has ever been truthed.
