What a lovely good morning to you all. Again it is mid to high 20s today, though only a very watery sun, not bad for Autumn, though a southerly change this arvo will change all that.
Went for my morning walk after an absence of a couple of days, I noticed that the local high school had some new cattle for their Ag classes. I presume that is for the new term which starts on Monday (still Easter holidays at the moment)
I am a bit late posting this because I had to watch the final episode of The Iris Affair - such a good series, reminded me a little bit of the 3 Body Problem but with a lot more violence.
Anyway that was my morning… Not quite… I nearly forgot, I also mowed the grass.
Have a great Friday, the weekend is almost upon us.
The play I went to see yesterday Death on the Nile was Good ,it was a full house which usually is on a afternoon sitting .
Rest day today and then another Show tomorrow to see , more on that tomorrow .
Men’s Shed this morning, general pottering this afternoon
A couple of things to report from yesterday –
I have an occupational pension and had a letter from them confirming an annual increase from this month, which is nice
But I doubt if I’ll see any real increase - thanks to the increases for food, petrol, council tax, and all the rest I’ll be lucky to stay level … just like everyone else I expect
I went shopping at LIDL; they used to sell bargain boxes of short dated fruit & veg which were generously filled and good value for money at £1-50
Now they are £2, which is fair enough, but with a noticeably smaller selection
I’ll see what they’re like in future
The meet up with the usual crowd was as enjoyable and entertaining as usual! There was a lady sitting on her own so we asked her to join us, she was surprised and as we left thanked us for being so welcoming and friendly! Hopefully she will join us again. (we are going to need a bigger table!)
Not much planned for today – expecting a parcel (yes more books!) so can’t really go anywhere until I know what time to expect them (they won’t fit through the letter box and there is nowhere safe to leave a parcel)
Just come back from an extended daily walk, check up on the swans, but couldn’t see if there were any eggs laid. Probably have a coffee later and the wife wants to do some chores around the house. Apart from that, not much else happening here.
