Good Morning Friday 16th August 2024

Good morning everyone on this sunny day, 22° predicted for this warmish, spring like Friday.

Nothing much to report in my neck of the woods except there was fog this morning which is unusual enough tin his area for some of the young locals on Facebook to put up posts wondering what it was. “Never seen anything like it before and I’ve lived here all my life”. Millennials eh?

Been tidying up - taking things like tools and electrical bits that inevitably end up in the house back down to the garage where they belong.

Anyway not much exciting happening today, have a great day, keep safe.

No bin news today? :grinning:

Good morning - A bright start to the day and 18C. The first thing to do is ride over to my brother’s house and continue with the clean-up now that it has been cleared of everything.

Home again to catch a bus to the hospital. Blood tests are booked and some hormone tablets are at the pharmacy ready to be picked up.

Have a good day

Morning all – bright sunshine this morning with top temperature forecast to be 20c

My brother rang this morning – just as I was about to start breakfast, no reason just wanted a chat, 45 minutes later breakfast was cold but at least I started today with laughter.

Had a lovely time yesterday with the usual bunch of miscreants, lots of coffee and gossip (I forego the cake!). The silver didn’t get cleaned in the afternoon as I was invited next door for more coffee (I have never been known to say no to coffee), so I will hopefully get round to doing that later.

Finished my book on Wednesday afternoon – more being delivered on Saturday but am currently experiencing withdrawal symptoms with no new book to read!

Take care – hope everyone has a lovely day

Only that the recycling bin wasn’t emptied until nearly midday. I think that is far too late, they used to be all collected by 7.30am.

How about you? What has excited you today?

Wakey! Wakey! All you bed heads… :044:
Was up an at em’ by 6:30 am. Clear skies and a bit chilly this morning (14 degrees C) It’s the first time this year that it felt like autumn. Was making decent progress around my five mile route with a few bits of jogging, but I bumped into John on the lane and had five minutes nag.
With the warm sun on my back I had to stop and listen to the silence, so peaceful and relaxing…
We have not had any decent rain for a while so the farmer has to water his sugar beet, or something… :017:

I reluctantly continued home, should have gone further…
I’m taking Mrs Fox, daughter, and friend to a garden centre where they will meet other friends for a knees up and lunch, I’ll probably come home and open a tin of soup…
So all in all…A quiet day… :yum:

Good morning everyone.

Another lovely sunny day - I can’t give the temperature because my outside thermometer has stopped working, suffice it to say that it’s comfortably warm at the moment.

I have a busy day today. I have just returned from the farm shop with some fruit plus some other goodies. They have started selling ‘homemade’ jams and chutneys and I found a jar of Lemon Curd! I haven’t had Lemon Curd for years, it was a favourite during my childhood, so I’m going to spread some on some newly baked bread at lunchtime, yum! Later I have an appointment with the hairdresser, later in the day than those I usually get but she has just returned from Italy and so has to fit in those who would have had appointments whilst she was away. Later this afternoon my older son will be ringing me for a chat, so that will take up another hour - we have some interesting chats which often contain political discussions plus much laughter.

My bins are out for emptying today too Bruce - the bin men don’t seem to have a set time around here so I’m half expecting the bins to be emptied when I am at the hairdresser and then left in the middle of the drive so that I have to remove them to enable me to put the car away - why they can’t leave them on the grass verge where I have placed them I don’t know, except that they come up the road often running behind the bin lorry so I suppose they just have to drop them wherever they can.

Happy Friday everyone.

Good evening forum people!
A really quite nondescript day for me in West Sussex, not that’s necessarily a bad thing of course.
I’m just going to call it a day with a chunky cheddar baguette, something to wash it down with and a little light reading to take to bed!

I’m sure pleasant dreams will ensue :scream:
Sleep well people…I probably won’t!

I’ve just been watching an old edition of ‘Heartbeat’ and realised that I want to leave the present and go and live in Aidensfield…Hardly any traffic, and what vehicles there were I could understand the engines, no computers or AI, no mobile phones, and brilliant sixties music…
Don’t sit up reading too long in electric light Chilli, it’s bad for yer eyes…
