Good morning everyone, it is a lovely warm, sunny winter’s day with temperatures in the low 20s.
Woke up this morning with my back playing up so am currently in that delightful opioid induced dreamlike state. I had intended to go for a drive this morning but decided that might be unwise however will go out for a walk later I hope.
Fetching the bin in this morning was a bit of a struggle because the drugs had not quite kicked in but as the morning wears on I feel more mobile. I want to take my camera out to re-photo that rather interesting box up a pole that I saw a couple of days ago.
Taking it easy early so re-edited a video I made experimenting with computer voices built into Windows. There is no mistaking a computer voice, so expressionless but hope fully AI in future will overcome that.
Deadheaded one of my Hydrangeas because the buds are growing and if I leave in any longer it will become difficult.
Not much else to report from my neck of the woods, as I say I will probably venture out for a walk soon, though it will probably be more of a totter.
Enjoy your Friday, Looking forward to the weekend - hope @Tiffany had good news this morning and that @swimfeeders is feeling a bit better too.
I’ve lived on my own for several years, but today I’ve got a date!
Where I live the Aldi supermarket is just out of the town centre.
One of my neighbours doesn’t drive and she has never been there, and I’d offered to take her, so today we’re going shopping at Aldi!
Morning all…yet another Friday already! Where does the time go?
Another scorching day here in southern Hampshire. Just come back from walk and fed the local swans and their cygnets.
Not a great deal going on today. Tomorrow I’m driving all the way to Weymouth for a photoshoot, while Mrs G cleans out all the shops there. Because its such a long way means we have to be up at the crack of dawn to get there on time (Allowing extra time for coffee and fry-up breakfast on the way). Then afterwards when I get back, I need to update and renew my Lightroom and Photoshop subscriptions and go through my pics which I expect to be around 700-1,000 images and take me a few weeks to go through them and add to my portfolio.
Before any of that, time for coffee and for me to raid the biscuit tin. Meanwhile I did take a quick phone pick of the cygnets I visit who are rapidly losing their grey feathers and rapidly losing water to swim in.
Good morning All, just.
Daughter feels better today, said it seems to be going on it’s own. Strange isn’t it
Doc is going to give her a consult on the phone I think, though what help that is I have no idea. No hands one or eye contact.
A cry for help! Does anyone have a sure fire cure for insomnia – the last three nights have been really bad and it isn’t just the heat!
Usual meeting with the “girls” yesterday, as always it was great fun and there was much laughter. Neighbours went off for 4 days stay in their caravan so I am back on cat servant duty. They obviously left in a hurry because not only was the alarm not switched on but all the interior doors were left open (they usually close them to ensure the beast doesn’t wander around the house leaving little gifts!). Still at least this time they didn’t leave the key in the front door!
My lovely Italian neighbour popped in with some home made pastries – honestly there is no chance of my starving with my neighbours always bringing me cakes and goodies!
No real plans for today – some housework and I have some paperwork to catch up on if I can summon up the energy!
Good morning everyone, 15th August - Summer National holiday here today.
Everyone should be going up on the mountains to picnic but lots of cancellations due to predicted storms this afternoon, yet again. This has been going on for a couple of days and will last another few. Still extremely hot and very sticky now too! Lovely blue sky and lots of sunshine at the moment, but it doesn’t take much for those clouds to suddenly get here.
Glad to hear your daughter’s feeling better @Tiffany, wishing her a speedy recovery.
Hope your back pain eases soon @Bruce, careful with those opioids.
Let me know @SheilaP, if you find a miracle remedy!
It’s actually quite intriguing watching and waiting for the storm to crash upon us! As long as there are no gale force winds or hailstones!
A neither here nor there day at the moment…
I’ve been having a bit of a rummage in the fridge and freezer. I hate waste, this of course means that I’m duty bound to scoff some rather delicious bacon…
Aye up from Sweltering South Yorkshire…
It’s already up in the high twenties and feels a lot hotter than yesterday that managed to peak at 30 degrees C. No exercise this morning because we took Rosie the cat for her last injection and I wanted to be showered and breakfasted before we went.
I daren’t tell her that next Wednesday she’s going for the chop…
Friends arriving in an hour with a new baby delivered by a proud daughter…We’ve known them for years and seem like part of the family…I couldn’t get out of it… Babies…Yuk…
So Mrs Fox has been busy tidying the house and buying lots of party stuff from an early visit to Tesco…I don’t mind, because I love party food, those little sandwiches with the crusts cut off and plates full of cakes and biscuits…
Sorry to hear about your back trouble Bruce and hope it clears up quickly. Teeth and backs seem to be the main product of overuse as we get older.
Glad to hear your daughter is feeling better Tiff, but phone call consultations are just rubbish…and the Doctors want a wage rise for doing stuff over the phone…
That bacon looks very tasty Chilli, I’ve had to make do with a couple of crumpets this morning…
Late today, a very disturbed night with the pain, eventually fell asleep this morning when Kinga arrived for her 4 hour stint and only just woken up.
She has obviously been very busy, corals arrived and been put in the tank,25 litres of RO water made, houseplants, polytunnel and garden watered and a bowl of tomatoes and chillies picked and in the kitchen.
Apart from some water testing, I will be watching TV and resting.
According to the weatherman on TV this has already been the wettest August for 27 years even if it doesn’t rain again and we are only halfway through the month. Rain and cold is forecast for next week, probably the cold is what you are getting now.
The lawn near my car port is like a bog. Its the Whinge Chill factor. Geddit?
