It is also Valentine’s Day, did you get a card? I didn’t
Warm humid night, temperature didn’t drop below 22° all night which doesn’t cool the house however being overcast it won’t get above 29° today according to the forecast.
Went for my walk this morning followed by a bit of shopping, the supermarket shelves were completely empty of eggs yet again but everything else was fine. Starting to wish I still had my ducks and geese -loved their eggs
Am preparing for a few days away in my camper, probably leaving on Tuesday so there are a few things to prepare. Not sure exactly where I am going yet other than south (the west is in the 40s each day)
Made a silly mistake yesterday, bought engine oil but, when I reread the manual, discovered I didn’t need it for a fair while yet. Never mind, it doesn’t go off and it was on special - 7 litres cost me less than 5 litres. I shall undoubtedly change it before my trip to Darwin - hopefully in May.
Will spend the rest of the day getting things ready for next week’s trip.
Morning all – do I really need to say what the weather is like – I am beginning to think it’s Groundhog Day!!
Eliza – how can you forget doughnuts!!! One of my (many) weaknesses!
News is that Mum has had her 4 lots of blood and now has to have an iron infusion, following which she will, hopefully be allowed back to the nursing home
The meeting with the girls was great fun, as always, although my deafness in one ear made conversation a little difficult, I am hoping the nasal spray will soon get rid of that
Had someone call yesterday afternoon to look at a couple of my windows (there is condensation between the double glazing). The quote wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be
Nothing much planned for today – need to get some laundry done but that is about it.
Morning all…
The only thing I know about Valentines day is that there was a massacre in Chicago a while back… Quite nasty according to reports…
A cool 3 degrees C again but nice and dry for my walk. I’ve just noticed a patch of blue sky outside the kitchen window and according to Mr Hudson, it’s going to get into double figures next week…I’ll get Mrs Fox to wash and iron my summer shorts…
Another lazy day at the Foxes…
Afternoon good people. Foxy, the warmed up substantially - it is mow 4C !
We have had a trip to the hospital this morning. It is a regular appoint for surgery on my head - it has taken some years but it is nearly healed. Then we dropped in to my sister’s gaffe to see if she was doing OK. Well, she was fine except she gets her phone in a muddle or gets it cancelled so whatever. Then we went home then we strolled the wee dog then I went to the local store then went home again for the last trip and now I am here.
I am huddled up around my chai with one of the dogs curled up next to me, another behind me with his head on the sofa arm, and the other in a ball at my feet. They are not happy about the chill, but they’ll be on the deck soaking up the sun later this afternoon. To say they are spoiled is an - understatement.
@SheilaP, I am so pleased to read that your mom is getting a very thorough transfusion. My mom had one too, and it made all the difference in her energy.
@Besoeker, I expect that your appointment must feel like a relief, if not a victory!
That is a big ol’ storm system, Bruce. Hopefully it will move away to yield good weather to your trip. I envy you the ability to choose a random spot and just - go. Your sense of freedom should be enhanced knowing that some of us will be spending those days scrubbing, caulking, painting… .
@Eliza what are the chances of a double yolk and a smile! I always like to think that these little happenings are someone on the other side sending you a hello .
You need only to read two paragraphs up to figure out what I am up to today. After some mention on the other thread about the dearth of global news in the U.S., I have found a BBC global news podcast, so I’ll put on my critical thinking hat and give it a go.
Have a very enjoyable Friday! Even after all these years, Fridays still feel a little like being released from a cage.
