I am parked outside a Caravan Park at Laverton - it looks like a prison with high walls topped with barbed wire. It is 1600km from here to Alice Springs on dirt road across a desert - a trip I will not be taking
It is still warm and I haven’t seen rain since the day I set out
Good morning all!
I felt inspired to blow away the cobwebs this morning, it was a pleasure to cycle round the mill pond at 06.00 and enjoy the sunrise and the solitude.
I passed the time of day with a dog owner walking his two hounds, one of the doggies was named Barney.
Barney was very friendly and enthusiastically greeted me with muddy paws, Thank you Barney!
Oh well, I’d already made a horrible mess of my trainers, Barney did the rest.
And then home for coffee, the bike didn’t handle the mud at all well but it’s not what this model is designed for, really must get that new mountain bike
After her breakfast the beast actually went out – first time in 2 days, so I left her to carry out her garden patrol while I cleaned up her latest gift!
Why does the caravan park have high walls and barbed wire Bruce? Are you sure it is a caravan park
Wow Chilliboot you are energetic! At 6.00 am I struggle to find my way to the coffee pot!
Yesterday was so lovely I finally moved the garden furniture from the garage back into the garden. Question, how does a table and chairs, covered and stored in a garage somehow manage to get dirty over winter? So after doing laundry and grocery shopping I will spend the afternoon cleaning it – but at least I will be in the sunshine!
Heard yesterday that a cabinet I am having made is almost ready and will be delivered some time next week
Good Morning From Foxy’s World…
Kindred spirits this morning Chilli. I also went off for a bike ride, a 15 mile circuit of quiet South Yorkshire country roads early on this morning. With no wind and sunny skies it was head down and eye balls out, and I managed to better Monday’s time by almost half a minute.
I thought it would be faster with more use of the ‘big gear’…
I was probably feeling yesterdays long drive to Bridlington. Fantastic weather and surprisingly few people. After the customary lunch at our favourite cafe’ we popped up to the top floor of ‘Boyes’ for scones and tea in the restaurant. Spectacular views and there’s also a museum containing old photos and the history of the store…
The North side of Bridlington…
Attending a funeral this afternoon, one of the original residents of our little cul-de-sac when we all moved in to the new build bungalows over fifty years ago…
At a lot, if not all mines these trucks have no driver they are self driving. It is quite un nerving to see the queue of them each exactly the same distance from the next making their way down the winding road of a massive hole in the ground. They even sound their horn at road junctions.
Terribly sorry to read about the loss of your neighbor, OGF. I hope the family is faring well enough.
.
It’s wonderful to return and find that you are so brilliantly still out and about. I am sure you are enjoying going farther afield, giving you new places to explore and enjoy the scenery.
That village looks charming, and rooftop options are always the best. Is it still chilly there? I notice quite a few folks are wearing jackets. It’s finally warming up enough here that we aren’t having to wear wetsuits in the water (and the tourists are all but naked, but that’s another unfortunate story).
Thank you Surfermom, it is indeed wild garlic. It’s soaking in a large bowl of water at this very moment. I don’t relish the idea of debris and sundry bugs in our wild garlic butter
I’m truly honoured to receive my Knighthood from Barney although somewhat relieved that he didn’t see fit to use a sword during the ceremony
I like friendly dogs!
Bit annoyed today as one of my Camera card readers has stopped an SD card going into the SD slot on it. I do have an older 3.0 card reader to get by with but obviously ordered a new 3.1 card , tried many cards but definately the reader.
this evening I went into a pizza parlour and the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted it cut into 4 or 6 slices. I said I would prefer it in 4 slices as I didn’t think I could manage to eat 6
Thanks Surfermom, it’s good to see you posting again…
Brenda (the deceased) was 88 years old and crippled with arthritis, she had a fall while at home and had to be admitted to hospital where she passed away with Pneumonia a couple of weeks later. Although physically disabled she was as sharp as a tack and I wouldn’t like to have had to play scrabble against her…One of the original residents of the cul-de-sac, and was our neighbour for over 50 years…A sad loss indeed, and she would have loved to see us all paying our last respects and catching up with the local gossip…RIP Brenda…
Although it was warm in the sun, the breeze still had some bite on the coast surfer, I think the temperature of the sea wouldn’t have inspired me to take the plunge, unlike the sea in your part of the world, and the naked tourists would certainly add a new dimension to a day at the seaside…
Well, OGF, a friend of fifty years is a sad loss indeed. It’s quite a thing to share the same same spot at the same time for a majority of one’s life. I hope she is off freely without the burdens of her aging body.
Yes, it is surely warming up here and the beaches are filling with tourists, most of whom come here and spend most of their time - not on the beach. I am a goner for the seashore as it is endlessly fascinating and beautiful - naked tourists aside
