Good morning all, brighter here this morning after yesterday’s rain and cloud, but at least the garden got watered.
Just a walk in the forest planned and I’ll be making dhal for lunch, but nothing else planned although I expect we may have some visitors as it’s Father’s Day…
It was a disappointing day. I tried to get another grocery delivery. I got someone else’s groceries . . . again. For people who eat anything, that’s probably a nice thing to get free groceries because they have to reimburse you for the stuff you didn’t get. For me, a vegan, it’s a giant pain. I don’t get to eat any of the food, and I have to find a way to dispose of it. Spent most of the day getting that sorted out. And didn’t get anything I wanted.
At least the weather was nice.
I’m planning on a day of rest. I hope it’s a peaceful day after this.
Much cooler, thank goodness, here today. Will have to venture out of my kaftans and into real clothes again as I need to go to the Post Office when it opens.
Not sure we had ‘Father’s Day’ when I was a child - but to all the Fathers in here - have a good one!
It’s a company contracted with Wal-Mart to deliver. But they won’t do anything. I called Wal-Mart 3 times to the actual store to see if they would pick it up. They won’t. Once it’s delivered, it’s trash because they can’t resell it. I called Wal-Mart’s 800 number also. They refunded my money and gave me store credit but that’s the most they can do.
Unfortunately, all the delivery services are the same in my area so changing stores won’t help.
Not a lot of help if they have left you without your vegan food! Most of the stores here do their own deliveries - which works well. I have ( so far ) not had a problem with Sainsbury’s anyway.
Morning all, and happy Father’s Day to all the dads on here.
Last night we had a very quick storm, as in it passed quite quickly, but by heck, the thunder when it started, sounded like something crashing heavily to the ground. Scared me for a second, till the rest of the thunder rolled after it.
No specific plans for me, other than cooking a roast. Might pop round to my sister first. I had offered her some roses from my garden when she called round Thursday, and we both forgot. I could then pop into Aldi’s on the way home. (Well, something to do, isn’t it?)
Now that it is dark the rain has just arrived otherwise the day was sunny if a bit cool but at least the night time temps are staying in double figures (just).
Went for my walk this arvo which was quite nice though as I say the breeze was a bit cool.
I wondered why my server wasn’t working until I discovered I had packed it away for my trip to Canberra last week and forgotten to reset it, got that sorted out.
Ordered some odds and ends from Ebay and Amazon for a couple of projects, then watched some more of Midwich Cuckoos - it’s an exciting life.
You certainly have got your Mothers’ and Fathers’ Days muddled up, I am sure Fathers’ Day is in September and Mothers’ Day in May (though I can understand trying to keep the Mothering Sunday thing going in a state religion.)
