Smashing day (it is 6pm now) sunny, warm and fairly humid (bloody La Nina)
Quick trip to the Vietnamese bakery for fresh rolls at 6am.
Breakfast and presents open by 8am (of course - the grandkids showered and dressed in record time).
Two gazebos erected in the garden and tables set by 9.30am. Lot of complaining about my daughters as it emitted showers of red dust as we erected it, she countered with, “People pay a lot for new topsoil”
Nine attendees all present by 10am
BBQ underway at Noon, as always far too much food I shall be eating snags for the rest of the week, There are even some prawns left.
After 2pm we could hear thunder from the forecast storm so everything was dismantled, as it happened the storm petered out as it neared the coast and we had absolutely nothing just the sound of thunder a long way away.
Set up a water slide and paddling pool for the kids, while the adults chatted, I went for a nanna nap at about 4pm

I was supposed to be in the Lakes with all my family but unfortunately both me and hubby are home alone poorly with Covid… I got it from my sister who has had to cancel her Christmas in Portugal…roll on 2022 which I hope will be better for all of us xx

Sorry to hear that Julia but you are not alone! We have had to cancel too because of our son having contracted the dreaded C19 and has to isolate. Look on the bright side though, there is always a tin of beans in the cupboard and a box of chocolates in the sideboard, so we won’t starve at least…
