Going to be another scorcher today - so am up early doing chores - keeping cool.
Had a good time at the Craft Fair yesterday - will be sorting and putting away what I bought later. The friend who went with me bought some lovely beads and asked me to make her a necklace - so will be working on designs this afternoon.
Knees are protesting today - so will not be doing anything more physical than cuddling a cat, making a salad, and crafting - not all at the same time though!
I’m stewarding in church, then we’ll be making some special hummus using brown tahini paste and chestnut puree.
This evening It’ll be Greek salad, that’ll keep a little while in the fridge for the beginning of the week.
It’s too hot to exert myself, reminds me of 76, all we need now is a plague of ladybirds, I don’t relish them getting into the hummus, the thought of that added crunch is not very appealing
Morning all another beautiful day here.
Not going out today and my hip and leg hurts so sunbathing it is.
Tabby glad you enjoyed your Craft fair yesterday.
Have a nice day all.
Started baking before 5am this morning, long before the heat started to creep into the high figures.
Baked two trays of banana muffins and two trays of sausage rolls so the family can pick throughout the day. Not sure what to cook this afternoon, but it may be a rice noodle dish - again, not much in the way of cooking today.
Listening to some ‘old school’ tunes with Aretha and Luther keeping me company this bright Sunday morning.
Good morning everyone back from Wales just before he heat arrived.
We had a lovely time but it wasn’t the same this year because I can’t walk for long without resting because of my back and hips.
I arrived home to find most plants had survived without watering but the tomato was touch and go , I have managed to save it after removing all the dead foliage.
Lots to catch up including my exercises .
Enjoy your day.
I’m using a 200g pack of chestnut purée.
Blitz the purée together with 2 tablespoons of tahini paste. a good drizzle of olive oil, some lemon juice garlic and a roasted red pepper. I’m using brown paste which is a little more robust than the more refined tahini, I think that will compliment the flavour of the chestnut purée.
As it’s a dip it’ll be served with some Doritos, the cool original (blue pack) as those don’t carry any strong intrusive flavours. Also some carrot sticks, cucumber and sliced peppers. Probably a little chopped parsley sprinkled on top too.
Good morning all.
Another very hot day. I have jobs I want to get on with outside, but I can’t stay out too long in this heat, and tomorrow’s supposed to be even hotter.
Constantly watering everything, after months of nuturing my plants I can’t just let stuff die.
I washed my car last night just before it got dark, it had cooled down a bit by then.
Had a nice bacon, mushroom & tomato roll for brekkie, and will have a roast tonight.
I’ve just washed the dog beds and they drying nicely outisde in the sunshine.
Now I am going to have another cuppa before I do anything else.
did the daily walk again this morningbut this time carrying the camcorder to see what it was like holding it for qujite a time. The neck strap idea worked well so het wil help. On the way around chatting to all and sundry as usual one neighbour in anoher road asked if i would do a video of his group who plant trees . apparently they and planted about 100 or so and taken stills but he asked if I would make a video for them in September. Have to think about that later on.
Yet again now too hot to even go outside or stay indoors
