Only had a short walk today as it is very foggy - and I do not like fog - it distorts things.
Need to go to the village post office later - hopefully it will have cleared by then.
Went fishing in the freezer first thing and caught a pair of kippers for breakfast. Haven’t had those for a while. Going to saute them in garlic and herb butter (when I find my mini churn) and make a stack of brown bread toast to go with them.
Out tonight for a Christmas Dinner in town with friends.
Good morning ST and everyone else to come yet.
Nothing planned for me today.
Got the window cleaning coming at 8am this morning and that’s it.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning everyone, a good frost here but no fog, just a light mistiness in the distance…
I’m baking bread this morning but nothing else planned as yet, just a wait and see sort of day but may catch a film later if nothing else presents itself.
Had a few visitors for lunch yesterday, added up to five generations of us no less…
Aww thats lovely Barry…I was with my family yesterday too and we had a lovely time
I’m under strict instructions from my son nooooo socialising between now and Christmas …we are all looking forward to getting together in the lakes over Xmas so no Covid hiccups allowed. I’m being good nothing planned…well I cancelled a get together on Sunday just being cautious.
Well I’m at work and it is the quietest day ever, nothing to do except surf the web, I’m not grumbling though as it’s not often we have such a quiet day.
I’m going to Dads after work, will pick up his shopping list, I usually do his shopping Saturday morning but I might do it today instead.
I finished most of my Christmas shopping last night, just a couple present left to get so I will get the last of the presents today then I can relax instead of being last minute. I have no idea what to buy my Dad, he is so difficult to buy for
Looking forward to finishing work for the weekend.
My sis popped in for a coffee and chat, after her hair appt. good timing as I’d just got in from second dog walk and wanted a cuppa myself. She had already bought herself something she wanted so I gave her the money, but will also look for something as a surprise. Maybe a photo frame, as one of her suggestions. We don’t now need to plan this trip to Dunelm/Range on Monday, she can do her housework, her only day off before her family descend on her at Christmas.
She doesn’t want anything as my contribution towards Xmas dinner (she and the kids have sorted all that). I have a few sweets but as everyone will leave about 2 hrs after the meal, I might buy a few more sweets tubs to let them take away. There will be 3 of her 4 children going.
Hoovering today. Yeuk.
I had popped into town myself in the morning, got what I wanted, or needed. Also bought a tiny dehumidifier in B&M for £30, which is in my bedroom. It managed to collect a few ozs of moisture in the night, but I switched it off about 6.30am as the fan is a little noisy.
Spose I’d better get the dog out. It is 9.36 after all, and I’ve not had breakfast yet.
Just done my trek to the Post Office and back - a walk of 1 x mile, which should have taken no more than15mins. My normal walking pace being 4mph. Today it took 35mins - as we still have freezing fog, and the pavements were covered in frost on top of black ice. No-one has awakened the gritters from their Summer hibernation yet!
Good morning everyone another grey day but at least it’s fine.
I am wailing for a Waitrose delivery , when they have been I will make a batch of spicy pickled cabbage for the family and freeze some cauliflower in case vegetables become in short supply due to a lack of workers.
The family are returning today from their little holiday so I will also do some baking to give to them in a meeting outside on Sunday.
Frosty today,at -1C and a little misty but we took a long walk. Then my dear wife takes Ozzie home and she and the lady usually usually have a long chat. She, the lady, lives alone and doesn’t get out because of her bad legs. In the meantime Max and I stroll back home.
