Ghosts: What use are they?

Now you have made me wonder, Mups

My Dad died in ā€˜97 and three weeks after I was going into town on the bus. All was ok until the bus picked up a few more passengers. The bus was one of those with seats opposite. I happened to look up at the opposite seat and the man opposite was the double of my Dad. I couldnā€™t take my eyes off him and felt like I wanted to call his name but he was always looking away. This must have lasted about 15 mins or so when I looked out the window to see where we were - my eyes went back to the seat opposite and there was no sign of ā€œmy dadā€ :open_mouth:. The bus hadnā€™t stopped and no-one had got off. I admit I thought I was dreaming but now, Iā€™m not so sure ā€¦ā€¦ could it have really been my dear Dad checking on me?

Why not Mags , of course only you will know but I think its lovely

Interesting, Mags.
Sounds quite feasible to me. How else could his disappearance be explained if the bus hadnā€™t stopped.

I think sometimes we see more than we understand at the time, and tend to just pass it off as our ā€˜imagination.ā€™
If it ever happens again, trust your instinct and be thankful.

I think when we experience strange things we canā€™t explain, we donā€™t question why/what, we mostly accept itā€™s just one of things and move on.

The gut feeling when we know something is wrongā€¦ when we unexpectedly shudder and shiver, and say ā€˜ā€™ someoneā€™s just walked over my grave ā€™ā€™.

When people see loved oneā€™s who have passed on, no it couldnā€™t be him/herā€¦things that disappear from where you last placed itā€¦ I must be losing my marbles.

Or could/is there reason.

PSā€¦have any post disappeared from this thread ?

I wish I could see my dad again and tell him I loved him .

Story number 1: yes, there is more than one

My first ever boyfriend/childhood sweetheart (also eventually became my husband) was visiting me at my house one weekday. He had bunked College.

We were sitting alone in the lounge making out :cowboy_hat_face:
Teenagers

Anywayā€¦I suddenly felt as if we were not alone in the lounge and I stopped kissing him and said to him that there was ā€˜someone or somethingā€™ there with us. I was creeped out! I kept looking up at the ceiling and I insisted that ā€˜someone or somethingā€™ was watching usā€¦

Later that afternoon I got a phone call :phone:. It was my boyfriend. He said that his dad had passed away due to a massive heart attack. He had died around about the time my boyfriend was busy making out with me.

To this day, I swear I felt somethingā€¦

@mups - excellent post!

We never had any problems with the Ghosts, seemed to be friendly enough, just things went missing then returned, even the Cats toys went missing and came back.

As a dreamer (no jokes please) I have had dreams in which the characters are, almost, fully ā€œhumanā€. By that I mean that, on waking up, my memory of them seems to almost perfect.

No disrespect, to Mups, but I think itā€™s possible for a dream to seem real if you are in a very tired mood and close to sleep.

Especially if you are exceptionally tired and keep drifting in and out of sleep.

True story , Jess had moved into this property a week before

Sister was at her daughters converted barn waiting to both go out for the day . The barn was behind electronic gates and a special thingy was on her car key to open and shut the gates .

Jess was getting ready and went to pick up car key from coffee table where they were kept, no keys to be seen , she searched as did my sister . Jess knew the keys had been on table . They couldnā€™t get out the gates so they ended up going in my sisters car .

Coming back both were looking , jess was in bedroom with door wide open and sister was standing 10/12 feet away talking to her, suddenly sister saw a black thing come from no where and fly towards jess , the black thing fell at her boots , jess and sister were stunned , it was the electronic box and car key.

Without doubt they both experienced this happening . Jess had many strange things happen and never slept without lights on . At first she was afraid but got used to noises , things missing and moved .

Whoaā€¦Susan that is scary!

Also reassuring to know though, that when things go missingā€¦it may not always be me who lost them! :joy:

Even so, susie, it isnā€™t nice to borrow things without permission. :018:

Hahaha lol.

My friends dad did a oui-ja board with the family one drunken evening in his house. He ended up nearly killing himself because when he looked in mirrors he could see his dead mother stood behind him. The last straw was when he looked in his rear view mirror when driving his kids to school and saw his dead mother sat in between them on the back seat of the car.

I dunno what happened to them after that because I fell out with my friend and Iā€™m glad I did.

I would never touch one of those things in a million years, Bread.
I honestly believe it is capable of inviting bad things to join you, which may not be easy to get rid of again. Not for me thanks. :slightly_smiling_face:

Ok another true story

Friend Jean was aged about 20 when a group of them got together and played with a ouija board . A message came through saying

Jean your brother is going to kill you

Terrified the girls stopped and after a while Jean realised she had missed her bus , she waited another half hour then went to the bus stop arriving home later than promised .

Walking up to her front door the door pulled open angrily and her brother screamed at her

" Iā€™m gonna kill you for being so late weve been looking for you "

Makes you think
