Getting Someone Else To Do The Job

Do you pay or get anyone to do a job you really dislike doing?

I don’t like cleaning or hoovering my car, so will pay for it to have a valet…not sure how much it’s going to cost…I bet the price has gone up considerably since i last used one…£5 I believe I paid some years back,:grinning:

I love cleaning inside my indoor windows.

I pay a window cleaner to do the outside ones.

Yesterday my brother announced they’d had their oven professionally cleaned.
I showed him photos of my oven after I’d cleaned it with the Oven Pride kit, he was amazed!!
It’s really easy!

I’m a cheapskate so do most things my self where I can.
Still able to climb ladders, so do outside windows myself.:+1:

:+1::+1::+1:…Oven Pride is brilliant…just put the racks in the bag then add the ingredients…pretty caustic though, if you get it on your hands, that’s why they add gloves…to which I don’t always use, my own fault.

I have a friend, who lets her oven get really bad, then pays over £50 to have it cleaned, each to their own though.

That’s what I use too, but only need it once a year or so as it is wiped out regularly anyway.

Mine is as well, can’t stand a greasy oven…that reminds me, it needs cleaning again, must be the best product on the market for oven cleaning…I’ve always got a spare oven pride to hand,Barry,:+1::+1:

That’s good if you can do that ,Chillie…:+1::+1:

I can’t really think of many jobs which I dislike that much so I do everything that I am able, rather than whether I like it or not. :+1:

God cleans my windows outside for free

Barry, I really can’t stand washing a car or hoovering it…thankfully I don’t have to have it valet too often, in fact I received this car in September, still haven’t had it cleaned yet, after travelling to Newbury then back at night yesterday , it’s looking pretty dirty this morning…we have a valet at Tesco…just up the road from me,…I wonder how much it costs now,:open_mouth::open_mouth:

What, you mean like a husband for instance?
good luck…

I usually wash and clean my own car, though if there was a decent car washing service nearby, I would probably pay to have the outside washed, especially in Winter. The roof is a bit too high on my SUV to reach right across it and I usually end up so wet and cold.

I sometimes stay with a friend who lives in a more urban area - there is quite a lot of car wash services around there and they are very cheap.
There is one at the end of his street which is particularly good, so I get mine washed whenever I’m staying over there.
It costs £5 for a standard car or £8 for an SUV, to handwash, dry and polish off the outside - I usually round it up to £10 because they do such a great job.
They pay attention to details that other car washes I’ve tried have missed out - spraying the underside bits you can’t see to remove grime and salt, opening the doors and boot to clean the inner door sills - and they get the wheel trims sparkling clean in all the crevices. They do a much better job than I can achieve myself.
They do a full Valeting service too - I can’t recall the exact price, about £20 or £25, I think - I never have a full Valet - I don’t have dogs or kids, so it stays pretty clean and only needs a quick hoover round, mainly on the driver’s floor area, and a quick wipe round with a cloth now and then.

The only other thing I pay to have done is my windows - my window cleaner keeps my outside paintwork and windows sparkling clean for £8 per month. It used to take me ages to wash and polish my windows but he whizzes round them in no time with a power sprayer that uses de-ionised water, so there‘s never any streaks.

I wish I’d asked the police officer that stopped me for doing 35 mph in a 60 mph last night, to escort me all the way home for a price…:joy:

I bet they had a laugh with each other, I got in such a state, because they were behind me…I couldn’t pull off for a while…

pauline, you must stop this self doubt, immediately.

when we moved in here we had the rangermaster oven professionally cleaned it was that bad he said he had never seen one so filthy. The previous owners didn’t care and the grill didn’t work either, In the end we bought a new one with an induction Hob. so that ment new saucepans etc as well
