The big ‘C’ is such a cruel disease. The medics give hope with drugs and radiotherapy, but it usually claims it’s victim in the end sooner or later😢
RIP George - no more pain or hope to cling onto for you. Rest well!
There was a lovely tribute by Clive Myrie on the one o’clock news on the BBC. Him and George were often together in Africa, on similar assignments. A well respected chap by all who knew him. R.I.P
Very sad, a great, professional newsreader
Looking at the photos today, I was very struck by his sons. What handsome young men they are, they must have made him very proud 
Very sad after a hard fight, he seemed to be a lovely gentle man. Very well respected and loved it by the tributes from all who knew him. May he Rest in Peace,
