Friday the 13th only occurs when a month starts on a Sunday.
The next Friday the 13th is December 2024.
I am not superstitious, so why would a date have any effect on me🤷♂️
Just another day of the month.
I like this date! First, my brother was born on this date!
Also, I book any surgical procedures on a Friday 13th if possible, as doctors have a less full schedule, because of superstition. Any traveling to be done by plane is easy to book.
Yes, I do believe in signs, but not bad signs, as I have only the best spirit angels looking out for me everyday, and I pay attention to these signs. We get along great.
I posted a new thread here yesterday https://forum.over50schat.com/t/friday-the-13th-and-my-gift-today/106055?u=rightnow …went to casino, lost a bit of money, but was gifted with a set of lucky horseshoes to bring home! See? My guardian angels were looking out for me next time I gamble.
So Fri 13 Is supposed 2B ‘UNLUCKY’.!!
Since Fortune Favours the Brave. And Actions Speak/‘Squeak’ Wisdom.
Invited a couple of friends to a. Takeaway Indian supper!!

NB. It takes an odd # in any vote. JIC.
All 3 agreed it was delicious and a ‘LUCKY’ choice.
The Proof in the Pudding this morning.
No one has Bombay Belly.
2 the Next Test. Next Year. Waking under LADDERS.
Back home again after spending all of Friday 13th in hospital. Still OK by today. The 13th was OK for me.
Life can B. A Gamble.
If without a PMA. & Patience.
I used to not schedule things on Friday the 13th, but yesterday was great for me.
I got something approved that I’ve been working on for months, I bought something at the price I wanted, I got a couple bills paid and a task done.
Normally I wouldn’t attempt those things on a Friday the 13th, but once the first thing got approved, it felt like a lucky day.
Just another day…
I would like to say I am not superstitious, but that would be only partly true. Friday the 13th, black cats crossing the road, or breaking a mirror has no effect on me, but I am a serious sports fan, and when it comes to sports I’m very superstitious. I used to play football pools (American football), where you had to predict the winner of the game by a point spread, and whoever won the most games won the pool. If my team were on the sheet, I’d skipped that game (taking an automatic loss for that game), and yet I once won the pool for seven consecutive weeks, with just one game loss, the one I omitted picking a winner, my team.
What is the real reason behind superstitions?
This is believed to stem from an effectance motivation – a basic desire to exert control over one’s environment. When no natural cause can explain a situation, attributing an event to a superstitious cause may give people some sense of control and ability to predict what will happen in their environment.
Nope, I’d forgotten all about it until a friend reminded me.
I’m lucky if I remember what day it is - if I remember what date it is, that’s an even bigger bonus! - so if I knew it was Friday 13th, I’d consider that a very lucky day indeed!
Looking at the date showing now at the top of my iPad, I see that yesterday must have been Friday 13th - and I didn’t know it - dang! - I didn’t even get chance to notice whether it was lucky or not - and now I can’t remember if it was!
I don`t give it a thought.
