Take all my stuff to charity shops

Same here. Mind you, our local tips have recycling containers which has stuff people can take out of for free (bits of furniture, books and even dvds), which we sometimes put stuff into if we’ve got junk to get rid of at the same time.

Chilli, just an update, everything I have advertised on Freegle has gone, I highly recommend this free site, to get rid of any of your unwanted items…it’s easy to join and easy to find your way around…i absolutely love it!!.:grinning:

Well that’s really encouraging Pauline. I’m ashamed to say that despite starting this topic I’ve yet to join myself. I really must get it sorted during the weekend otherwise knowing me I’ll keep putting it off.

If you’re on Facebook there are usually local groups for your area you can join to give away stuff for free and also for selling

I belong to a few and they do work well but I do worry about them coming to collect it because anyone a bit dodgy might be sussing out what else you’ve got and your security

The good thing is about Freegle,Chilli.

You join your local area, which cover so many mile radius.

We’re all very close to each other.

I’ve met some lovely people…the bird aviary I gave away, they messaged me again, thanking me for it and how their finches had a much better area to fly around in.

Tell you what though.
One lady told me, she gave a brand new lamp away, next thing she knew, he was at the local car boot sale, selling it…:open_mouth:

I’d be extremely reluctant to let anyone into the property unless it’s someone I know and trust. I’d just meet and greet at the front door. That wouldn’t work with a sofa for example but I’m pretty sure that charity shops pick up furniture for free.
