For those who like Vintage Autos

Boyd tolerated a lot of artistic faffing, in his Hawaiian Shirt, but, the big budget created some works of art. :biking_man: :heavy_check_mark:

I had only ever been out in the Renown and one day coming back from a trip to see his Parents living in Canvey Island, but now near our homes in Croydon Surrey, we got pulled over by a Police Officer…turns out he had been under the radar before…My late Dad was not impressed when it turned out he had only a provisional licence…He then got banned from driving for that offence…The cars got towed away without any warnings…

Really? I was born in Texas, lived the first 17 years of my life there. You would get shot trying to repo or impound a car or truck. I’m not kidding either, being a repo man back then was dangerous work. Sorry for your loss.

Right ok…this was about 1965 and if you have done wrong, then guess that was the consequences. We had only been upset many years later, as before that life was so full on that we did not appreciate them so much at the time…
He bought an old MGB convertible that was painted up a black tulip colour…nice but not really in the true colour of a classic car …1976…had some fun with it though…

When I was 14- 15, a Massey Ferguson 35X was my tractor on one of the farms I worked on. It was a great tractor. Even if I did always drool over the new 1200.

A beautiful machine Susie and what a shine, I bet it didn’t look that good when new! :+1:

Beautiful car and photo!

We had a 1936 Austin that I used to drive about on the farm. I was early teens at the time.

I learned at 10 to drive a stick. I learned in a truck that looked like this one on my Grandfathers farm. Nearly ran over some of the cattle, I could barely see above the dash. :grinning: good times. :grinning: :grinning:

Most of here in UK drive a stick or manual as we call it. I have had just a couple of autos in my fifty odd years. One was a V-12 but the fuel consumption was absolutely awful.

My first car was a pre war Austin 8. Top speed was about 40mph which was just as well because the mechanical brakes were a bit dodgy. I still remember the number plate ASA404.

That’s a lovely car Susie!
