For some reason unknown to me I lost access to my Wi-Fi network

When I looked into it, Nothing appeared. Ethernet - not connected.
For someone not at all tech savvy this was a problem.
Thought I would have to take my laptop to the computer people tomorrow.
Kept searching, somehow found how to at least get access to my wi-fi but it asked for the security key.
WTF! How am I supposed to know that? I do remember writing it down somewhere. After half an hour searching, without luck,
I came to the conclusion, no more wi-fi until I get to the computer people.
Then I looked at the wi-fi dongle and a deeply buried memory surfaced.
The security key is somewhere on/in the dongle. I extricated the back and there are a heap of numbers.
After trying several, success. Security key accepted, back on-line.
This tech stuff is a problem for those of us who have difficulty coming to terms with the intricaci

Nothing difficult there Bret…as long as you (we) can wind the clock back 20 or 30 years.

If that should happen again, go into your WiFi settings and your WiFi network password is in there. To access that section, right click on the WiFi signal emblem.

My son had the same problem, turned out his neighbour put a password on his wifi

OK…

The easiest way if the computer has an ethernet port is to use that to connect, then sign into the router/modem and look up the password that way.

It sounds like you probably have the default settings on your router so look on the base (or the manual) for the address and password.

It won’t be the same (this is mine) but something like this:
