Hello, everyone!

How very kind of you all to think of us here in FL. Our family and community was hit by storm surge and have some minor damage, we are very fortunate. Several of our friends have had terrible damage to their homes, but all are safe.

We are taking some days off to help with recovery efforts. I’ll have photos soon.

Take care!

Thank you all so much. I feel like crying it’s so bad for our neighbors down the coast…but there is no crying in baseball or hurricane recovery. You just put your head down and get on with it.

I am back at the house to wash and swap out clothes, water plants and collect the mail before heading back out.

Have a nice week and sincerely, thank you again!

Another one. :anguished:

This is what you get when you mess about with the weather… :009:
This extreme weather only started when we started altering the composition of the atmosphere.

This one, that jump from a tropical storm to cat V in less than 24 hours, is going be a big one.

This is number 2, so on average, there will be another one, to hit Florida.

But being “unsurvivable”! That was the same thing said about the last one. Couple of hundred died from it, but millions survived. So “unsurvivable” is most likely coming from someone that’s has either never heard about Hurricanes or never experienced one

Hope everyone manages to say safe during this storm. I’ve been watching its progress with interest as I’ll be there myself in a couple of months.

How on earth people manage to get through these awful hurricanes I’ll never know . Do they have cellars to go down into, and how is it the cellars stay intact ? I cant imagine the fear .

Florida does not (normally) have basements because the water level.

A few things have to be taken into consideration. Everyone has a good chance of losing their roof. Concrete building have a 90%+ of staying intact minus a roof of windows. Normal American built home have about a 50% chance of surviving with damage depending on the condition of the home.
Double wide, Trailers, RVs will take serious damages.

Where do people go for safety . Do they have solid built community halls or special places to go to .

I saw the exodus on the news thousands of cars , but where will they go .
