Beavers are wonderful engineers. They create an environment that would otherwise not exist. By damming creeks, they make a home for fish, a habitat for various water fowl, and, at least in America, a feeding ground for moose who gorge on water plants.
As a child, I often played around beaver dams. Sometimes, while sitting quietly, I’d catch a view of the beavers felling trees, repairing the dam, and returning to their lodges with fresh green shoots.
This is wonderful news!

It was on the news last night, lovely to see him/her in the water with his Mum.
