Cagney and Lacey, CHiPS, Hill Street Blues, Moonlighting, Scarecrow and Mrs King, Charlie’s Angels, Jake and the Fatman, Hart to Hart
Oooh Hart to Hart! Their dog was lovely
How can I forget Murder she wrote
Home straight after football training on a Thursday night to watch
Miami vice, not many Ferrari Testarossa about in the 80s
No its Vera in a landy …how times change
I like Perception, Monk and Psych.
I like Vera too… many years ago when it aired I also liked Columbo. I loved the way the murderer always under estimated him and at the very end of the show regretted it
Quality telly then though, don’t you think? Not saying that today’s is rubbish per se, but it does lack a certain charm. I watched a couple of Rockford files earlier - good stuff, thanks!
I liked Rowan Atkinson in the new(er) version of Maigret.
I really enjoyed the Miss Marple series starring Joan Hickson.
Not technically detectives, but more crime fighters were Hiram Holiday, whose weapon of choice was a brolly, and Get Smart were a couple of my favourites from yesteryear, as well as programmes such as The Last Detective, as in the last detective you would want on a case despite the fact that he was actually quite good at solving crimes.
Then there was Inspector Gadget in a class all of his own.
Whodunit!
Detective Mike Logan from the early seasons of Law&Order.
